Every morning the poor would go to the railroad tracks and pick up the coal that spilled from the cars. The old woman would walk past our house with a pillow case of coal on her back.
Mom said that the old woman was taking bad children to the river to drown them. My sister and I would hide underneath the window sill as to not be seen, popping up occasionally to see her pass with the bag of “bad children” on her back on her way to the river to drown them.
Oh yeah, we behaved.
A lady friend of mine would asker her three boys to sit on the couch and watch for the “purple cow” and to call her immediately when the “purple cow” came into view. They may still be there watching while she did her work.
Rupnik – a horror story
Rupnik is not the worst horror story.
He dreadfully abused people who (as far as I know) did not abandon God afterward.
The horror story is the clergy “in good standing” who tell lies about what God requires from us.
Rupnik created a temporary Hell, the others lead people to the permanent one.
The difference between the thug who breaks my arm, and the poisoner who takes my life without me feeling a thing.
Tucho said there are worse cases on the docket than Rupnik … He never said who they were or whether they remained in active ministry. So much for transparency. I sure wish we had a media (Catholic or otherwise) who would’ve asked those questions.
TBO: It wouldn’t surprise me if any of Rupnik’s victims lost their faith, the worst details of his crimes would never pass moderation on this site, and justifiably so.
Remember everyone, today is the traditional day to start a novena.
Isn’t it odd that the pope and the U.S. Bishops say nothing about Trump’s pro-IVF and abortion pill policies, which are contrary to Church teaching, but can’t shut up opposing his immigration policy, which does not violate the teaching of the Church?
John 16:8: “And when he [the Helper] comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment”
Jesus called the Holy Spirit “He”
So much for He being a she.
