Lately there has been a trend on You Tube of posting patriotic songs with AI Art, reminds me of the Socialist Realism of the Soviet Union, featuring beautiful women in period uniforms. This one is odd in that the women are in modern uniforms which would seem to postulate an alternate history where the Confederacy won the Civil War and created a new nation. A peculiar little eddy in our culture.
Bonus:
If an AI film clip were made of air conditioning being invented in 1802 instead of 1902 then I’d believe it, but few would get the connection.
(Air conditioning significantly transformed Southern industry by making it feasible for businesses to operate during the hot summer months.)
I used such a clip playing The Battle Hymn of the Republic to my senior class. When I watched it at first (before class) I got thrown off by some of the uncanny valley elements, but decided to show it anyway because the version of the song was the closest approximation to how it would have sounded circa 1863.

Yes, and it is often changed to “let us live to make men free.” If only it were that easy.
Or, worse yet, “as he died to make us holy, let us live to make all free.”
The version I played had the proper original lyrics. The kids were amazed because they had never heard the full five verse version.
I don’t get the version with the woman soldier.
When we lived in Mobile my brother and I (high school age) used to sing The Bonnie Blue Flag. We like the melody and the design of the flag. It didn’t seem to be inflammatory like the Stars and Bars.
