Perhaps cowardice, but let’s not discount avarice as a motivator. We know a number of well-placed donations coaxed many American Universities into turning a blind eye to sources of pro-islamic migration propaganda. Would moslem payouts to the modernist’s preferred Vatican slush funds be so far-fetched? Clearly The Vatican could use the money, which is one big reason why rumors of CCP payouts will probably continue as long as the details of the Vatican-China deal remain secret.
At times I have to wonder how long it would take the risen Lord to throw out the pitiful residents of the Vatican City. Money changers every one of them.
The proper response to this nonsense would be to ask when the next Christian church will be built in Mecca.
