“Power without responsibility – the prerogative of the harlot through the ages.”
Stanley Baldwin, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom
News that I missed, courtesy of The Babylon Bee:
Over the last several weeks, unelected federal judges have struck repeated blows against the Trump administration with rulings designed to stop his agenda.
The Babylon Bee has put together the following list of some of the new rulings recently handed down by federal judges:
- “Gulf of America must be changed back to Gulf of Mexico”: As it has been called from time immemorial.
- “Owning a Tesla is unconstitutional”: Burning a Tesla, on the other hand, is protected free speech.
- “Tim Walz is straight”: This overturned a lower court decision that had declared Walz really, really gay.
- “Trump is not allowed to move his head during the next assassination attempt”: Any attempts to evade death are unauthorized and therefore unconstitutional.
- “Israel must return all hostages to Gaza”: They were kidnapped fair and square.
- “I hereby order Danny Miller from my fourth-grade class to apologize for calling me a ‘wiener’ in 1974”: You had better say you’re sorry, Danny.
- “DOGE must restore inefficiencies to all government agencies”: Every department of the federal government has the right to egregiously waste taxpayer dollars.
- “Jesus must uncrush the head of the serpent”: A judge ruled in favor of sin and death that their destruction was unlawful and therefore null and void.
Go here to read the rest. Our most precious civil right is the right to rule ourselves.
Cruel in the shadow, crafty in the sun, Far beyond his borders shall his teachings run. Sloven, sullen, savage, secret, uncontrolled, Laying on a new land evil of the old— Long-forgotten bondage, dwarfing heart and brain— All our fathers died to loose he shall bind again. Here is naught at venture, random nor untrue— Swings the wheel full-circle, brims the cup anew. Here is naught unproven, here is nothing hid: Step for step and word for word—so the old Kings did! Step by step, and word by word: who is ruled may read. Suffer not the old Kings: for we know the breed— All the right they promise—all the wrong they bring. Stewards of the Judgment, suffer not this King! Rudyard Kipling, The Old Issue
My favorite ruling so far is: “Federal Judge orders astronauts to return to the ISS”
