I watched “Young Abe Lincoln” with my boys when they were younger. It inspired them.

We were given Sandburg’s “Lincoln” (probably abridged!) as extra credit reading in HS history. Wonderful teacher, Mrs. Rebord! (She also gave us Kenneth Roberts’ “Oliver Wiswell” for the Revolution. A skate for me, as I had already devoured it, along with most of Roberts’ works.) Anyway, Sandburg’s work is eminently worthy of being introduced to any reasonably literate youth of your acquaintance.
Optimist, I broke my jew’s harp trying to play it. *sigh*
