This is personal for me. In my 42 years at the Bar, I have defended well over a thousand defendants. Whether I liked or disliked my clients, I used every ounce of legal skill and knowledge to get the best result for them I could. The creature above reminds me of the “defense counsel” given to victims of Stalin’s purges who would either say nothing or would denounce their clients. John Adams who defended the British soldiers accused in the aftermath of the Boston Massacre, winning acquittals for them, represented the American Bar at its best. This lady has nothing in common with John Adams.
Is this grounds for a one way trip to the ethics committee, if not being outright disbarred?
A complaint could and should be filed with the Board on Professional Responsibility, go here to view its website, which governs DC attorneys. I doubt if she would receive anything other than a slap on the hand, but doubtless complaints against her will be made.
Trump needs to see if he can show this blue haired bigot the door.
“They’re damn lucky to get me” with a laugh.
Oh yeah. Lucky indeed. Once they are released I hope, due to the lawfare they had to endure, that they get the last laugh by being awarded a few million dollars each for the abuse of unjust punishment. The (blue) are the true criminals.
Swamp rats.
Pardon my Captain Obvious impression, but I have to say it…this is about as blatant a violation of every concept of professional responsibility as I could imagine, short (only barely) of actually ratting out a client’s confidences. I wouldn’t be surprised if this demonic creature did that, as well. Here, we have yet another point of proof that DC needs to be dissolved as a political entity, period. “Public Defender.” Right.
Agreed. Retrocede the District. The concerns which generated its formation are anachronisms. It would be agreeable to have some bi-state authorities which operated in the District; in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties in Maryland; in the Counties of Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun in Virginia; and in the five stand-alone municipalities enveloped by those Virginia counties.

J6 “trials” should never have been a setting for defense tactics.
They should have been a venue for scaffold speeches.
Her job was to discourage that.
Statements such as “it’s my house, get over it.” “My stolen property was inside that building. – my vote” “Can’t be B&E. I was invited in.”
Would they have done worse? Would they have been *more* in jail?
Hindsight is 20/20. After never needing my corrupt employer’s recommendation, I should have bluntly and loudly said to anyone listening why I was leaving.
Too often we make nice for advantages that are imaginary or slight. Time to speak plainly and vigorously to the corrupt and deluded.
I only wish I *really* had the courage to do it…
“All of her J6 clients pled guilty”
Guilty of what? What were the charges she told them to plead guilty to. Besides not adhering to professional protocol, she told them to plead guilty to who knows what, even if they didn’t break a law, just so she can “educate” them. Horrid woman.
The public defender and the warden of the DC Jail are sadists. The J6 hearings under Trump will have videos never seen before. Cheney will probably be charged with perjury.
This woman is a disgrace to her profession. As a lawyer (attorney was to fancy for me) for over 51 years, I have watched the deterioration of my chosen profession with dismay. I place a good portion of the blame with lefty Deans who compete with each other to hire as law professors the latest graduate of
Harvard or Yale who, many times, have never set foot in a Courtroom
and whose concepts of Justice would be more in line with those of Stalin or Hitler. The only professor from whom I retained any useful knowledge was part-time and had a successful local practice. I remember going to the Courthouse to check out cases of other lawyers so as to know how to file a pleading (after graduation). After reading her attitude toward her clients, please excuse me while I rush to the bathroom to PUkE. Prosecutors should always remember that their SOLE responsibility is to see JUSTICE is
done. That’s not the same as winning every case.
