Melania Trump: Pro-Abort

I hate being played for a fool.  “Catholic” Melania Trump reveals herself as an ardent pro-abort.  Why now of all times?  I suspect this is a deeply cynical move by President Trump to lessen the ardor of the pro-aborts arrayed against him.  Besides being deeply cynical it is also deeply foolish.  Trump’s strongest supporters are pro-lifers.  This lessens their ardor and will have zilch impact on the pro-aborts.  Dunb, dumb, dumb.

It’s sad.
The mercy given to the helpless child in the womb via adoption is a priceless gift. The slaughter of the innocents is barbarism.

Millions of opportunities to let God be God and blessings abound, but abortion negates these blessings. Abortion equals dispare and says that God is unable to provide. It slaps God in the face.

Truth?
What is truth?

I don’t know what any political figure (much less spouse) believes on any social issue. People haven’t embraced her because she’s private, and a lot of people hate her husband, but mostly because people don’t respect third wives who are 24 years younger than their husbands. I don’t blame any pro-choice Catholics because I don’t know how bad their catechesis was.

He must be calculating that he’ll have the pro-life vote anyway because the alternative is so bad.. but she, she has gone for the jugular vein of the Democratic Party -their abortion supporters.
Hell hath no fury as a scorned woman; the FBI should not have ruffled through her underwear. I just hope what she said is theatrics, for her sake of her soul.

“I don’t blame any pro-choice Catholics because I don’t know how bad their catechesis was.”

Your right about the blame game.
Non-negotiables.
Twenty five years abortion was a non-negotiable.
Today?
The wordsmiths captured catholic-lite’s who fancy the buffet at the local cafeteria church.
Phrase du jour is reproductive healthcare.
How innocent…barf.

It doesn’t require expert catechesis to understand there is something grotesquely wrong going on in abortion clinics and its not as if priests and bishops have not addressed the issue outside of religious education classes.

Sad. Now pray and mortify. Then keep up the fight.

Trump tried to soften his stance not long ago and the pro-lifers were all over him…and he backtracked. Wait and see how the pro-lifers handle this one and if they can be as affective on her.

Having said this, let’s hope she hasn’t had an abortion or 2 herself. She is coming across as defending a guilty conscience…

You know, the GOP has done about as much about abortion as I expected it would do when I joined the party in the 1980s. They fought government spending and mandates against Catholics and others opposed to it, restricted it on the margins, and appointed judges who protected the rights of medical personal and church institutions that didn’t want to be part of it, and now they’ve dumped Roe. But the GOP impulse is less “conservative” than libertarian: they don’t want people forced to do what they don’t want to, which cuts both ways here.
It hasn’t helped than US Catholics have played dilettante, the bishops included. The poll-counters can hear the bishops, then see what Catholics actually do, and they can hear the same bishops call for a big welfare state and appoint laymen to CHD and Catholic Charities who level abortion with the environment, immigration and a whole laundry list of issues the rest of their constituency opposes or ignores. In other words: they see our officialdom calling for Democratic social programs (except on abortion).

She might get that Vogue cover now, but this revelation still isn’t going to pull the young woman vote away from Harris.

I’ve always thought pro-lifers should be wary getting too cozy with Trump.

I’ll just vote Constitution Party as I did in 2016:

https://constitutionparty.com/principles/platform/

The abortion issue is real simple:

(1) You don’t want a baby, then don’t have sex. That’s your reproductive right. You’re not a wild animal that you got to titillate your genitals like a wild baboon. Apologies to all baboons out there.

(2) Rape, incest, or even boyfriend / girlfriend fooling around? You don’t murder the baby for the sins of the father. Make the father responsible for the child financially and otherwise till he is 18 years of age. If you can’t do that because the father is a criminal and needs to be jailed, then find a way to support the mother and maybe adopt the baby out.

(3) Life of the mother? If a doctor has got to make a decision on whom to save, and he saves the mother while the baby cannot be saved and dies, then that’s not abortion but fate. There’s no condemnation in that.

And here’s the message to give to Democrats: we care about women. You’re the ones who are selfish by murdering pre-born babies instead of finding a way to care for mother and child. You’re the ones who demean women as mere sex objects instead of embracing their sacred role as mothers. You’re the ones who let the men who cause pregnancy to get away with impunity what they did; you enable their irresponsibility by abortion. Shame on you for your selfishness.

When was the last time we had a pro-life First Lady? Both Bushes were pro-abort, and I’m pretty sure Nancy Reagan was as well.

It had very little bearing on what their husbands did on the issue, and will have even less now that the battlefield has returned to the states.

Melania’s Catholicism has always been muddled, at best (between her nude modeling and her entering into an adulterous marriage, I’m not sure why anyone would have expected anything different). This is just one more instance of that.

Good points, L.V. Folks probably expected too much from her on this issue. It’s still very disappointing, but we maybe shouldn’t be surprised, after all.

The moral judgment in this and similar cases is easy. It’s open and shut.

So, we are left with an excommunicate (Melania) but one who still has one foot in the Faith, so to speak.

It should be clear that fraternal correction (where possible) and prayers for her conversion are in order.

People can come back from the brink and oftentimes by way of the prayers of others for their souls.

As bad as abortion is, it’s important for us to remember that it is not the worst of the mortal sins. Sacrilege, blasphemy, even deliberate profanation of the Blessed Sacrament are greater sins in themselves.

The great danger, I think, with all the “pro-abortion” politicians and public figures is that they seduce themselves into thinking that there is no sin involved. An earlier age would have quickly identified that kind of thinking as heretical. (And they were probably right.)
