What we’re we thinking?
We’ve been (chuckling) listening to a podcast series called “The Rest of History” where the topic is “The Roman Conquest of Britain: To the Ends of the Earth”.
How the Romans starting in 55BC conquered this strange illiterate land called Britain, where savage men painted blue shaved their bodies except for the top of their head and a mustache, worshipped trees, and practiced strange customs -continually at war with neighboring tribes.. The Romans made slaves of many them and put them to work, building London, aqueducts and baths. It’s not an exaggeration to say that “Britain didn’t exist.. until 55BC.”
I turned to my Italian wife and said “Thanks honey.”
Given the direction of the modern Left, I doubt throwing those things that the Aztecs and other native people did will work as anything other than a matter of inspiration.

If Spain wasn’t as screwed up as it is, electing brain dead Socialist governments, trashing its own Christian history and accepting the Black Legend as fact, then the response from the Spanish government ought to be that Mexico immediately stop using the Spanish language and use Nahuatl or some obscure Indian language.
Given the numerous Indian tribes that fought alongside Cortes AGAINST the Aztecs, this idiot Mexican president proves Rush Limbaugh’s point…Politics is theater for the ugly…and the stupid.
Bad air quality, poverty, violent crime, corruption, the drug trade and this dufus has to complain about what Cortez did 500 years ago.
If the Aztecs wanted to sacrifice or cannibalize her stupid self, she would not be making those statements.
Good thing the Spanish never had the same view as the English or Americans vis a vis the Indians. Mexico would be nothing but ethnic Spainiards.

David WS, I too have recently discovered The Rest Is History. It’s the only podcast I’ve ever actually enjoyed. The two men are knowledgeable, well-spoken, witty, and on-track. I can recommend it whole-heartedly.
