This was bound to happen. Who knows if it happens more than we are told…

We recently (January’s 2024) had a case in Melbourne where a woman went in to have this “minor procedure” and ended up dead. She has left behind a husband and two young children. They have suspended the doctor while they “investigate. He is apparently the scapegoat for this “minor procedure”.

It would also appear that this hospital is severely lacking in basic patient safety protocols. Every single time I’ve had any kind of invasive procedure involving sedation or anesthesia, including a gallbladder operation and colonoscopy, I was asked repeatedly, by every single nurse, doctor or aide who checked on me, for my name, date of birth and what procedure I was in there for. The intent, of course, is to make absolutely certain that they don’t mix you up with another patient or perform the wrong procedure, both of which are classified as “never events” for which Medicare/Medicaid may severely penalize the hospital. I don’t see how this Prague hospital incident could have happened unless someone barged into the examining room where the woman was awaiting her checkup and stuck her with the sedative needle without bothering to ask her who she was and why she was there.

If my memory serves me well, because of Proposal 3 being adopted into Michigan Constitution, a serious infraction, like the one above, the physician would not be held liable for a mistake as collosal as this.

The protections for abortionists are downright despicable.

A lump of coal from Gov. Gretchen and her AG.

THIS is why “Catholic hospital” needs to mean more than we have a chapel and there’s a cross on a wall.

Medicine has become a secular god who is invoked and given sacrifice to keep away the powerful secular demons of age, pain, and death. (The last of these is so potent that the secular often fear to speak of it.)

Consider how much money is spent, how freely we give and receive advice on medicine and how disdainful we are of those who are not interested in their own health. Then compare it to money spent, acceptable conversation about, and reaction to apathy about God.

Our age is in deep trouble…

“A lump of coal from Gov. Gretchen and her AG.”

Um, yes, but Prop 3 was voted in by the people of Michigan. Maybe not you, or me, my DH, but alas, I know people who voted for it. I told them it would not end well. Gave them articles. They shot back with an analysis by some left leaning think tank that Prop 3 would never lead to any kind of abuse, etc, etc, etc.

DJH…

Yes. It was voted in. Parental consent loopholes, late term abortion up to birth if the state deems that the mother is mentally taxed due to the unwanted pregnancy while she’s giving birth…(going from memory)

Lawyer’s will have caseloads within a year or two, I suppose, as the ambiguity of the constitutional addendums added will be challenged. My nickel guesswork.

Planned Transparenthoodlum Inc. will have a field day filling puberty blocker orders.

It’s besides the point if they performed the abortion on the wrong woman. It wouldn’t have happened if the hospital didn’t perform abortions. The problem is the abortion not medical negligence. Medical negligence is prevalent.

I don’t supposed they’ll be bothered to provoke the other lady into giving birth? She could allow the lady who intended a simple checkup to adopt the little one….
