Requiescat In Pace: Lou Conter

The last survivor of the USS Arizona, Lou Conter, has passed at age 102.  In 1942 he graduated from flight school and was commissioned.  He served as a combat pilot in World War II and in Korea.  He retired from the Navy with the rank of Lieutenant Commander in 1967.  1,177 of the 1,512 crew of the USS Arizona died in the Pearl Harbor attack. The remains of 1,102 of the sailors and Marines remain on board the Arizona, considered to be buried at sea.  Now the roster of men is complete on the other side that knows not war or death.
