This is why I always vote for Trump with gritted teeth. He does this on the same day he takes Truth Social public, enhancing his net worth by 3.5 billion dollars. He gives endless fodder for comedians by hawking a sixty buck Bible with the Constitution in it. He obviously has no one around him who can say That is an idiot move. With Trump we get a man who can make genius moves in politics and in business, but who can never cease to be a huckster at heart. Of course then I look at Zombie Biden who yesterday was telling us how how he often traveled by rail over a bridge that had no train tracks, and I swallow my doubts about Trump. However, I was born during the Eisenhower administration and the greatest President of my lifetime was Reagan. How did we come to this?
Trump is a bombastic, chaotic, force of nature. I don’t know what’s worse, this or Raymond Arroyo gushing about how Trump is reaching the black community by hawking stupid looking gold sneakers.
Just think, conservatives had a choice between Trump and the guy who built the bulk of his political career prostituting himself and his family to Trump.
Idiot move? I wouldn’t say that. Better than a lot of other things he could do. Before we grouch about Trump, …let’s see our bishops clean up their act. Considering the actions of Pres Biden, supposedly Cathollc, Trump is doing decently enough.

Ok, so the USA Version Bible is tacky. So what… Im failing to see what is so bad about his promotion of the Bible. He is trying to remind people that the US has its roots in Christianity. And?
Don’t be so hard on the guy, he has no understanding of the full Truth as we Catholics understand it, so you can’t judge him by those standards. I think there is the danger of playing into your enemies hands here where they equate Christianity with fundamentalism and the loopy. Nothing he says in that video is crazy.

If I understand it, this version of the Bible he is selling also has the Constitution in it. You know, how often those on the Left accuse conservatives of treating the Constitution or the Declaration of Independence like Holy Scripture. No matter how many times they are told that’s wrong, it’s a constant accusation. Now comes Trump putting the Constitution in the Bible. Sometimes it’s as if he wants to say ‘You know all those negative stereotypes you hear about conservatives? They’re true!’
I understand Trump does not take advice well regarding his speeches, comments, musings, etc. This does not help him and reinforces the negative opinions of him fueled by comments of those on the left. Still, as long as Biden follows with one of his performances, Trump may yet win a close one.

If anyone has treated the Constitution or the Declaration like Holy Scripture, it’s been the Left. I have heard about Separation as a bedrock principle, sternly misinterpreted, since my teens. The Left has no desire to allow a whiff of Christian sentiment, so they seek to expunge any (Christian) faith from the public square.
Naturally, the Left views Islam as the enemy of their enemy, so the “religion of peace” gets a pass as needed. …Never mind reality, then or now.
Trump’s marital record creates obvious trouble, sure. Overall, his actions have tended toward greater virtue than most of his opponents. And, the Church has rarely given him cause to “shape up”. We can only belittle the pre-Vatican II Church for so long before “outsiders” begin to believe it….
It may seem tacky and hypocritical, …I could wish more Republicans would have the guts and follow suit. …Seeking to accommodate the Left has mostly resulted in the nation leaning Leftward, not in genuine accord.
I could wish it’d be the Dhouey-Rheims with Constitution, Declaration, …and pocket Catechism. Realistically though, this isn’t horrid.
