AI generated?

Just your typical Sunday morning where a Rhino strolls casually down the main street..😳 and the only one who notices that it’s unusual is…the dog. Good dog.

TWO PRAYER REQUESTS

ONE

Pray for my son Eric. He is a Hospital Corpsman aboard the USS Hampton SSN-767 (a Los Angeles class fast attack nuclear submarine, the same kind his Dad was on some 40 plus years ago). They are NOT in the South China Sea, thank God. But they are in the Artic chasing Russians. Frankly, I could not be prouder.

TWO

Please remember the mother of my son Eric above in your prayers. She has kidney disease.

To those of you who are Traditionalist Catholics, I am well aware of Matthew 19:1-12. Don’t let my errors deter you from prayer. Thank you.

My primary email provider is Yahoo, which I keep promising to change and then chicken out because it will take a lot of work to update many website log-ins; yes, the sin of Internet Sloth. In any event, I usually ignore their attempts to get me to read Yahoo “News”, because it is so reliably leftist and, thus, usually loaded with factual errors. This morning, however, against my better judgment, I actually went to one of their highlighted stories, in this case Yahoo’s obvious attempt to make a silk purse out of the sow’s ear that was Biden’s “State of the Union” speech.

They started, of course, with the DNC-talking-point characterization of the speech as “fiery”, proceeding thereafter to cite as favorable a finding of an ABC poll to the effect that a whopping 44 (or something like that) percent of respondents thought the speech was…wait for it…”better than they expected.” Not “good”, or “great”, or “Okay”…just “better than they expected.” No one, apparently, was asked to explain precisely what they expected.

That was the best they could do.

So Joe didn’t drool or freeze up or fall off the podium. Therefore the speech was a success.

You can’t make this stuff up.

Also, replying to LQC:

Prayers going up, Sir. And as for your errors– I doubt if any of us is in a position to act superior based on our own sins. I, for one, have been confessing mostly the same stupid sins over and over, ever since I converted to the true Church back in 2005. I hope I am the publican in the front row praying “God have mercy on me, a sinner”, and not the Pharisee saying “Look how much better I am than that guy down there.” That remains to be seen.

Just a humorous story. A week or two ago you posted a story and added a quote from a Benavidez. That name always reminds me of basic training. I had a Drill Sergeant whose last name was Benavidez. He sounded like Rocky Balboa when he talked. One night I was on fire guard and he was on duty, and he knocked on the barracks door. I responded “Who goes there” and he responded “DrilSar… Beh-neh-VEE-dez… lessgo”. A couple of weeks later we were waiting out a thunderstorm, and he called me before the company to do an imitation of him. So I did his response that night, and actually had the company and other drill sergeants laughing. I looked at him and he was looking away, and it was obvious he was trying to stifle a smile. I didn’t get smoked for it, but he did play up to the Beh-neh-VEE-dez when he ever said his name.

LQC — prayers for your son and his mom also.

Another prayer request: my husband and I recently took in a stray cat whom we subsequently discovered was pregnant. Her name is Saraya, she is a beautiful, affectionate gray striped tabby and she is carrying 5 kittens who are due any day. We hope to keep one or two of the kittens as companions for her and rehome the others. So we are praying for a safe delivery and healthy kitties….
