Has Father Edward Beck ever read the New Testament? Serious question. https://t.co/B8PDZ5RsV5

The ignorance, it burns. The Romans did not apply the term Palestine to Judea, or any part of the Holy Land, until about 135 AD, around the time of the Bar Kochba revolt, the last great Jewish revolt against the Romans. At the time of Christ the Romans ruled the Holy Land through a quilt work of local petty rulers and direct Roman rule. The Holy Family went to Egypt out of fear of Herod the Great, not the Romans. Jesus steered clear of all earthly political contentions, telling Pilate that His kingdom was not of this world. Leftist priest Edward Beck, no stranger to this blog, couldn’t be more wrong in his attempt to drag Christ into the Gaza war.
Go here, here, here and here, to read the other occasions when the mind droppings of Father Edward Beck have attracted the notice of TAC.
Fr. Beck probably knows what he’s saying is BS. He’s counting on the ignorance of his hearers. Extending the benefit of the doubt to these types has long ceased being beneficial!
A link to Mitzi’s quote tweet of Avi’s embedded video of Fr Beck on CNN (of course), who I was hoping was an Episcopalian or something, but no luck:

Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ. Thanks, St. Jerome. We can’t be reminded of this fact too often.
