Divisive?!!? Honoring the valiant on both sides kept the peace and preserved the Union … How is that divisive?

I shudder to think what “art” is created from this action!

snorts
If they had torn down a few statues of Nathan Bedford Forrest, I MIGHT have understood. He did found the Klan.
Nope.
I suppose we ought be relieved they haven’t decided to start burning down old plantation manors too. We must always see the dignity of Black people that we’ve “squashed”; we must never look for the same dignity in anyone in the South.
For all that bluster about honoring ethnic groups and dissolving racist efforts, they grow mighty quiet when anyone mentions the Irish or Germans.

Destruction of historical objects is reflective of a vain and demonic attempt to destroy history. History is the record, to the best of our ability, to record our deeds and misdeeds. It’s perversion, suppression or destruction is an assault on truth and therefore a lie.

Lie about Lee to the extremity of your free will. It will not touch the man, or the truth. Both are out of reach of the liars and their father.

Stupid bas***ds. They have no idea what they’re doing.

Or worse yet, are on a clear and intentional path. Either way, they have no idea what’s coming if they persist.

For those interested in character, I invite the comparison of Gen. Lee with Union Gen. Dan Sickles.

Mr. Flagerty: You are correct in pointing out Forrest part in founding the Klan, from which he later dissociated himself. Forrest, with whom a number of black men served on the promise of freedom at the War’s end, spoke out for full civil rights for blacks in years after the War. The bodies of Forrest and his wife were disintered from their graves in Memphis and reburried due to misplaced protests. Isn’t it ironic that many advocates of this action also support the murder of over 60 million preborn children since 1973, many of whom are disproportionately black babies. The winners of wars write the history books, which are not always “fair and balanced “.

That is a disturbing video. No need to show that. It is as if seeing a body cremated.
