Always like the TV series with Buster Crabbe even though it was pure hoakum and the Legion did not have American citizen officers.
I’m afraid I don’t understand your critique, Donald. I see what may be troops on the side with an American flag there. Yet the overall clip seems to be about the French Foreign Legion and a few French citizens honoring their troops for a moment. I would expect the French would have French officers.
No critique was intended by me. I used the video simply because it is one of the more stirring renditions of the French national anthem. Frenchmen may serve in the Legion. The officers are usually French but foreigners have earned commissions in the Legion including Americans. A fascinating outfit that has retained its mystique as the world has grown more cynical: “My father died in battle young, my mother I have never known. The Legion is my only home!”
Eh, I was inquiring of Mr. Link.
