Bishop With Guts
Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 41 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
A model that is proven in fostering religious life and vocations to the priesthood is the TLM and perpetual Eucharistic Adoration. Altar servers, boys, from the earliest of years grow up serving God and God’s children. Why is so hard to decipher that many of these boys here Christ’s Call?
To stop this Rite is to stop the progress of growth in Catholicism.
Who on earth is willing to do that?

How long before this diocese has an “Apostolic Visitation”?
Apostolic Visitors do not have to be admitted. Stop playing nice with them.
Yes, the locals don’t owe the Apostolic visitors nada. If the pope then wants to remove the bishop, well, so be it. And tell the foreign agent Nuncio if he seeks trouble where there is no trouble, he can stay away too.
“If the pope then wants to remove the bishop, so be it”
I sure hope he doesn’t (Bp Paprocki is my bishop after all – one of the few bright spots with regard to life in Illinois). In any event, mark Aug. 5, 2027 on your calendar – it’s only 4 1/2 years away – that’s the day Bp. Paprocki turns 75 and if Francis or someone like him is Pope at the time you can bet they won’t waste a minute accepting his mandatory resignation letter….
2 favorite Bishops.
When I listen/read Bishop Strickland, his concern for your immortal soul will Trump any popular fashions or secular ideas. He does not mind going against worldly views.
He’s the exact opposite of PF
Mr. Nachazel, the current Pontiff hates the Tridentine Mass, the people who attend it and the United States of America, in no particular order. Growing the Church is not a priority. Punishing enemies is.
@PF
I wish that I could debate you but the evidence supports your point.
I am filled with Hope when I see the next batch of young boys being trained in service on the altar.
Our Altar society is growing.
To see 13 servers, two deacons and our beloved priest preside in the TLM is a sure sign of growth and expansion of grace. To see the efforts of the leader of the Holy Catholic Church wish to minimize this rite is heartbreaking.
God help us and help your Church.
