After less than two months in the Senate.
Fetterman is completely unfit for public office. The con job run by the media on his behalf was typical for the unpaid press agents for the Democrat party.

Mencken, “You get the government you deserve – good and hard.”
He isn’t the problem. Like Chinese Biden, he daily will be doped up and vote as he’s told.
The problems are those who voted for him and laser jets.
Lemmings should not be allowed to vote.
Look at the Ohio toxic, train disaster. It should be Manchurian Joe’s ‘Katrina.’ But the DNC media complex isn’t into it.
What an insult to the citizens of his constituency. What an insult to the hard working tax payer who had to fork out his wage. What an insult to the reasonable, logical questioning person who said he was unfit for his party and for office yet he was forced as a candidate onto his constituents. These people don’t learn because they are not held accountable and have no consequences to their actions. Someone needs to be held accountable, because the man was not suddenly dropped on his head after he came into office. In a sane world, Biden would be next in line as he is clearly not fit for office and it’s the big fat elephant in the room that the left are pretending nobody notices. Oh, but the world notices.
Another argument against ‘early voting’. Some Fetterman voters have the excuse that his impairments weren’t glaring until after they’d cast their ballot. (Not many. Most partisan Democrats respond to the abuses of their party by (1) pretending it isn’t happening or (2) making the most absurd excuses for it).
In truth, there is reason to believe Fetterman suffered a nervous breakdown in his early 20s and has had issues ever since. The odd gift relationship with his prosperous father suggests that. That his wife was willing to marry a man who was in his late young adult years but on his father’s dole makes it plain she’s from a different culture and rather eccentric.
If I’m not mistaken, people with brain injuries do not recover much after the first year. See Gabrielle Giffords; there’s a reason she is not in Congress. Or see the lovely Mandy Nagy and read the heartbreaking annual missive her mother offers on her current conditions (some things get a little better, other things get a little worse).
This is Mandy Nagy 10 years ago, at age 43.

She begins speaking at 0:40. You can also see the residue of the worklife she led. Her mother has never taken down her Linkedin, Twitter, or Facebook accounts.
All true, but Mrs.Lurch has no regrets, nor do the media, the Democrats or anyone else who foisted him on this formerly United States of America. I do believe this is what the decline and fall of the Roman Empire would have looked like in more modern times.
What an insult to the citizens of his constituency.
No doubt they stuffed the ballot boxes, but north of 40% of Pennsylvania’s electorate voted for him.
One of our problems as a political society is that half the electorate is composed of people who are indifferent to accomplishment. Have a gander at the 20 or so Democratic politicians who set up presidential campaign committees in 2019 / 20 and then look at the subset who actually performed passably in primaries and caucuses. They had several candidates who had a history in business (Bloomberg, Yang, Delaney, Hickenlooper); several experienced public executives, at least one of whom had performed well in office (Bloomberg) and at least one who knew how to appeal to a red state electorate (Bullock). They weren’t interested in any of these people. They were interested in Joseph Biden, who encapsulates all the pathology in our political order; Bernie Sanders, Trotskyist yapping about ‘the rich’ and their ‘fair share’ from one of his three residences; Princess Spreading Bull, Elizabeth Warren, whose claim to fame is conning Harvard Law School and peddling the notion that someone other than you is responsible for you overspending your income; Amy Klobuchar, a quondam prosecutor notable for abusing her staff; and Pete Buttigieg, one of the world’s hollow men.
Get used to it. Stolen election after stolen election.
Trump has embraced ballot harvesting. The Democrats are about to receive some of their own medicine.
Trump has embraced ballot harvesting. The Democrats are about to receive some of their own medicine.
Republicans should be working to end the practice completely in states where they have influence. Where they don’t hit ’em good and hard. They’re continue to pretend and cheat until they’re materially hurt by it. Oh, you remember those goo-goo groups like Common Cause and the League of Women Voters? They’re all in on the phony ‘voter suppression’ narrative. There is not one element of the Jimmy Carter era Democratic Party that has kept to its supposed principles. The people who actually have fixed positions are lone wolves (Dershowitz, Greenwald, Weiss, Taibbi).
Note, it’s not that challenging to set up a satisfactory elections administration scheme. State legislatures just do not feel like it, and they often make things worse when they do make changes.
Mrs Fetterman will take his place. I’ve heard that the senator from the beginning of is time in Senate has to have some sort of tabllet with a specaail program to hel[p him understand his fellow senators when they speak. Heard this on the Vince Colonaise Show on DC station 105.9 WMAL.
Fo7;
I do believe this is what the decline and fall of the Roman Empire would have looked like in more modern times.
In complete agreement.
I pray that the next generations, God willing, will look at this era of Roman decadence, debauchery and destruction as a lesson on how quickly the cancer spreads when false God’s are embraced.
It’s not that the moral compass is broken, it’s more than that. They have exchanged compasses for tarot cards. A new morality is being erected into the minds of godless individuals. Godless because they lacked proper rudimentary knowledge of Christianity.
Will America face the same consequences as Cesar’s Rome?
Pessimism is a weakness of spirit.
I apologize in advance.
I just shake my head at the evidence of a society gone to hell..and somebody somewhere prove me wrong.
Please.

Fetterman’s doctor isn’t the only lying liar in the medical profession.

Derailment in the Detroit suburbs. Hoping Dale Price and his family are not downwind. The lying liars are also saying the water in East Paletine, Ohio is perfectly safe and that the town does not qualify for disaster aid. A wag suggest they post a picture of a garage door pull in the shape of a noose to get the federal government’s attention.
Pretty sure most actual people who voted for Fetterman weren’t voting “for Fetterman” and as such are fairly relieved that somebody else will carry the D banner in the Senate. Unsure if Shapiro would be so blatantly crass as to put Mrs. Lurch in when there are other, just-as-lefty-but-not-as-sketchy possibilities.
The people of my home state Pennsylvania looked around at the possibilities during the primaries and chose the worst possible person in the state and one of the worst possible people in neighboring NJ. Then they watched the two of them in a debate, and chose Fetterman in the general. Full knowledge and complete consent.
A fair number of people had voted before the debate Pinky. One of many reasons why early voting is insanity. Oz won a majority of the 77 percent who voted election day, but the 22 percent who voted early gave Fetterman his margin of victory.
and one of the worst possible people in neighboring NJ.
You need to dial it back.
Did I go to hard against the pro-trans Turkish soldier from out of state? That wasn’t my intention, only to make fun of the Republicans of the state for nominating a pro-trans Turkish soldier from out of state.
That wasn’t my intention, only to make fun of the Republicans of the state for nominating a pro-trans Turkish soldier from out of state.
Pinky, I am beginning to think that the people of the Keystone State deserve to be represented by a brain dead zombie like Left Wing Lurch. Oz actually developed into a pretty good candidate by the end of the race, but ignorant animosity is a powerful force in politics.
My relationship to PA is like yours to IL. Paternal disappointment.
Republicans in Pennsylvania have to overcome an enormous handicap, increased even more by early voting and ballot harvesting. The manufacture in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh by Democrats of needed votes to win an election. So we shouldn’t blame those voters in other parts of the state (like where I live) for disturbing election results.
Pennsylvania was a missed opportunity. Too bad Toomey, who I liked, decided to pick up his marbles and go home, although I can understand anyone getting sick of Babylon on the Potomac.
My relationship to PA is like yours to IL. Paternal disappointment.
I wish the GOP were as strong in Illinois as it is in Pennsylvania!
“The problems are those who voted for him and laser jets.”
scratches head Why do you have a beef with a printer?
Forget about this man’s mental disabilities. His positions on the issues should have ensured his defeat by a sane electorate (support for baby murder, transgenderism, LGBT issues, etc). Restoration of the requirements of some type of property ownership as a qualification to vote would solve most of the problem. I know, it’s not going to happen. The idea that only citizenship qualifies one to vote is preposterous, and even this is currently under attack in many cities.
Restoration of the requirements of some type of property ownership as a qualification to vote would solve most of the problem.
Probably Fetterman’s voters had a higher average income than the voters for Oz.
Restoration of the requirements of some type of property ownership as a qualification to vote would solve most of the problem.
That would accomplish almost nothing. The political parties manifest demographic blocs and cultural dispensations within social strata. They don’t differentiate social strata. Seventy years ago, the Republican Party had a large advantage in the most affluent decile while the Democrats had an advantage in every other decline, without much variation. Well, now your affluent people are usually Democrats.
Unless your property qualifications boot off the rolls blacks, Puerto Ricans, Califnornia Chicanos, single women, salaried line employees in the social services apparat, salaried line employees in the educational apparat, people in word merchant occupations (including corporate communications), HR hags, casino bankers, and BigLaw partners in firms that don’t get revenue from oil companies, they’re not going to be much of a solution.
Donald R. McClarey As to Babylon on the Potomac, the D.C. in Washington D.C. should stand for the District of Corruption, with its theme song being “The House of the Rising Sun.”
Mr. Kurland, with all due respect, the “Pittsburgh and Philadelphia” narrative HAS TO GO. The power in Pennsylvania politics lies in the city of Philadelphia of 1.6 million people, nearly all of whom vote Democrat, and the suburban Philaelphia counties of Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery. It does not help that the Pennsylvania counties bordering the Delaware River vote like they are part of New Jersey.
Allegheny Cou ty has about 1.3 million people, less than Philadelphia, and Allegheny votes abot 55% to 60% Democrat, which is LESS than it used to.
The counties surrounding Allegheny vote Republican. Beaver County goes back and forth.
Fetterman was long promoted by the Pittsburgh media, who is the PR arm of the Democrat Party.
Fetterman never held a private sector job. Fetterman lived off of his York County parents..York County can have him back. Fettetman lived in a home bought by his sister. Fetterman did not pay his school property taxes on land he owned. Fetterman rarely showed up for work when he was Braddock mayor and Lieutenant Governor. Go look at who voted for that dufus the most….Southeastern Pennsylvania.
The same part of PA that reelects Bob Lazy, gave us Ed $pendell and Joke Shapiro, voted for Wolf and his pathetic Health Secretary.
Pittsburgh has a myriad of problems, but Pittsburgh has no more clout in Pennsylvania than Cleveland does in Ohio. It is Philadelphia and its suburbs that rule PA, just like Chicago and its suburbs rule Illinois.
As for East Palestine…it is lessthsn an hour from me..and my mom in Northeast Ohio. Norfolk Southetn has had far too many derailments. They embraced the psthetic cost cutting model called Precision Scheduled Railroading. I hope East Palestine sues them to bankruptcy. Expect no help from Mayor Pete. A department store mannequin could not do worse.
Penguin Fan, thanks for the comment. My wife comes from Pittsburgh (her father was Ray Sprigle, the Post-Gazette reporter who won a Pulitzer prize for his story on Black’s Klu Klux Klan membership and should have won a prize for his story on masquerading as a Negro in the South in Jim Crow Days). I met her in Pittsburgh (we were both teaching at Carnegie Tech, now Carnegie-Mellon) so I too have a deep affection for Pittsburgh. Nevertheless, as with any big city, it is susceptible to voter fraud, even though it’s less than in Philly. I took Pittsburgh / Philadelphia axis from James Carville’s description:
Pennsylvania as Paoli and Penn Hills with Alabama In between. Go Penguins!
Thank you, Mr. Kurland. Central Pennsylvania is a pleasant place to live. It is far more affordable than most of Maryland and is not overwhelmed by a large city.
I have long despised Carville’s description of Pennsylvania. Philadelphia is Baltimore squared. Philadelphia’s suburbs were Rockefeller Republicans. They voted for Reagan twice, elected Thornburgh in a tough governor’s race in 1982 and voted for Bush in 1988. Philadelphia and Pittsburgh are separated by 300 miles of hills and mountains and rivers. Philadelphia is and always has been an East Coast city, only 95 miles from Manhattan and 97 from Baltimore. Harrisburg is less than 100 miles away.
Pittsburgh is closer to Columbus by an hour than to Harrisburg. The Midwest really starts at the Eastern Continental Divide, not when the land flattens out. Thete is little to no cultural difference between Bedford, Somerset, Greensburg, Little Washington, Latrobe, heck, anywhere in Western PA excrpt for the poorest areas of Allegheny County and where the college kids are, in Oakland.
The Post Gazette that your father in.law worked for has never moderated its hard left wing editorial positions and it is one of many dying newspapers. I loved the sports sections of the PG and the old Pittsburgh Press, which at its demise was the bigger and better newspaper…and an afternoon paper at that.
