Saint of the Day Quote: Saint Atticus of Constantinople

Patriarch of Constantinople.  As a Bishop he aided in the deposition of Saint John Chrysostom from that office, but as his successor he honored his memory and upheld his teachings.  Pope Celestine I regarded him as a worthy successor of Golden Throat.  He died in 425.
