They are still counting from the birth of Christ. Christ will always be the centre of history no matter how they spin it. And that makes their little minds explode 🤯
BCE, before Christ era; CE, Christ era.
Neither the world’s greatest magicians, nor the political left, can make Christ and Christianity disappear.
There are only two realities here. “We are either with Him or against Him”. The political left has clearly chosen their side…even those that pretend to be ‘devout”.
I have heard that BCE/CE means Before Common Era and Common Era. But then again, who are they fooling? It does not matter if one is a Believer or not: Jesus Christ is the single most important man/historical figure/religious leader/etc of the “modern” era. Muhammad is likely a close second, but we don’t measure time because of him.
.
Even when I was in Japan, although they had their own way of counting the years, they still used the BC/AD concept. I suspect the same is true of the other Asian Countries
I’ve often said that Christians willing to hide Jesus under a bushel lest non-Christians be offended was symbolically the beginning of the end.
My wife is Buddhist but she has to stop and think when I ask her what year it is for her religion. Outside of religious contexts, I have never seen or heard of Buddhist’s references to other than Cristian numeration.
A rhetorical question, for users of BCE/CE…exactly what common era are you referring to?
The Communists did not invent this monstrosity. The Woke did.
DJH as an aside, Japan has another cultural tradition that is also very pro-life. Japanese birthdays are backdated nine months before they take their first breath of air outside the sanctuary of the womb.
The Japanese celebrate Boys Day and Girls Day. Dolls are clothed in traditional dress as part of the holiday.
