Election Open Thread

The usual Open Thread rules apply:  be concise, be charitable and, above all, be amusing!

TAC will have its usual Election Night coverage on Tuesday.  Even most of the mainstream media is now admitting that this is a Red Wave Election.  We are seeing the undecideds falling behind the Republican candidates in most contested races around the country.  Shocking upsets are coming in some icy blue states, including some completely unexpected ones.  I expect after this election the GOP will have around 240 seats in the House and 53 seats in the Senate, completely controlling Congress, 31 State Houses and several hundred new state legislative seats.  I could be wrong, but all the signs are there for this outcome.  If anything I may be underestimating the size of the GOP wave.  Give me what you are seeing in the comboxes.

Rothenberg remains conservative in its projections, expecting the Republicans to gain about 14 seats in the House and perhaps 1 in the Senate. They’re also projecting the Democrats might pick up a governor’s chair, net.

I’m expecting a number of seats in the Senate to be stolen, along with governor’s chairs.

Did some recent renovations around the house. Many of the workers were Hispanic immigrants. Some second generation or more, some first. Hard workers. They were all: fed up with inflation and the high price of fuel, disgusted by the gender bender nonsense and worried about their young children.

Prediction: In a couple of weeks the democrats may be screaming for a border wall. Lol.

Bride and I voted yesterday. Collin County, just northeast of deep blue Dallas County, is solid red, despite the recent wishful thinking of the reliably DNC-lapdog Dallas News. There are no ballot propositions of any notoriety or major controversy, just several school district bond issues that will pass with 80% as usual. When we headed to the nearest early voting location we were between two major thunderstorm fronts that brought Texas-style gully washers, high wind, and lightning, and even dropped some tornadoes east of the metro area. I mention this only because it added to my surprise at our having to wait nearly 30 minutes just to get into the voting room. That kind of turnout in early voting usually spells a blowout for someone. Going out on a limb and guessing the victims of this year’s version will not be the GOP.
That said, I, too, fear the theft of at least one or two Senate seats, specifically PA and GA, and the governorships in PA and WI. If we manage to avoid those outcomes it could be a wave of historic proportions, indeed. It would be pretty impressive even if those thefts are pulled off in plain view again. Hoping the GOP learned something from 2020 and will have eyes where they need to be.

Voted early yesterday in Springfield IL. Straight GOP ticket all the way down. Not expecting any red wave here but maybe we’ll be pleasantly surprised. There is an open Congressional seat in my district (IL-13) that Dems keep gerrymandering to favor Dems but for the last decade kept electing a Republican (albeit a RINO, Rodney Davis) anyway. Hope that trend continues…

We will never vote our way out of tyranny, but go ahead and try as you might….
Vote harder.

Had a couple friends mention that when they voted; selections for for republican candidates; there was a quick flicker on voting machine screen and their vote changed to demonrats, thankfully they reviewed their votes and changed them. Called attention to the faulty voting machines. No real concern by the volunteers/observers. How many votes were changed to demons without voters realizing it? This was in Collin County, tx, very red county.

Well, Pat, if you don’t vote, you hand the crown over to the enemy without even making him work for it. That seems pretty idiotic to me, FWIW. And when we do vote in representative numbers, we can and do win. Seems to me the job is to keep those who run as Republicans acting like real Republicans after they are in office.

“How many votes were changed to demons without voters realizing it? This was in Collin County, tx, very red county.”
If that happens, and I don’t know, since I’ve never seen it, but have heard this sort of remote hearsay before, then the voter alone is responsible for checking his ballot. We get a review screen to check our votes, then paper printouts to check them again, before putting them in the scanner ourselves. No excuses if you don’t spot an error. And Texas does not use Dominion machines because they failed the state’s security analysis. In 2020, 99% of Texas precincts were fully counted within 12 hours of the polls closing. I’m not real worried about Collin County or the State of Texas. Maybe I’ll be unpleasantly surprised. We shall see.

Scrape the voter roll on a biennial cycle, removing relict entries. End early voting. Limit the use of postal ballots to the 12% of the population who have an abiding issue which inhibits voting in person and provide for those people to have a postal ballot on renewable standing order. Get the postal ballots in the mail by the 15th of September. Conduct signature checks as they arrive. Close to new arrivals on the Friday morning of the day the voting begins. Have them tabulated at HQ before the polls close. Scrape the voter roll on a biennial cycle, removing relict entries. Set up one precinct for every 1,000 residents. Hold in-person balloting on Friday evening, Saturday morning, and Saturday afternoon. End the use of digital technology in voting tabulation. Hand counts and or un-networked analog tabulators. Each precinct send the first draft of the full tabulation via e-mail attachment to HQ, then have a Democratic and Republican clerk deliver the hard copy tabulation sheet by hand.

Attend Mass on Tuesday and pray. Pray especially for pro-life candidates. They are usually Republican.
We both have voted within the last week at the Voter Registration office. No I VOTED stickers this year. Taking a two day anniversary trip which coincides with Tuesday otherwise we would be at our precinct and be watchful.

Demorats are in a panic.

The GOP voter turnout will [has to] be greater than their capacity to cheat.

Additionally, the GOP generally votes higher numbers than the polls.

The point is that some ballot machines are flawed and the post was to let others know to check their ballots.
Just because dominion machines aren’t used doesn’t mean the ones being used are flawless. Just because someone hasn’t experienced problems with ballot machines does not mean there are no problems with them.

The GOP could end up with 55 or 56. My worthless projection is that the GOP holds onto Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin and wins in Georgia, Arizona, Nevada and New Hampshire, with a shot at Washington State and Colorado. Chuck Schumer is out as Senate Majority Leader and the GOP needs to dump McConnell.
The House will flip, just by how much is the unknown.
The GOP holds onto the governor’s office in Ohio, Georgia and Arizona and gets Kansas, Michigan and New York. The Dems will win Maryland, but Hogan was a fake Republican anyway.
Sadly, I think that the anti Catholic bigot Joke Shapiro will win in PA.

Sheepdog, neither I nor anyone else can prove a negative. But I have yet to see or hear reliably (no offense intended) of any such problems in the machines being used in Texas in general or Collin County in particular. That said, of course everyone should check their ballot before submitting it. That’s simple common sense.

Frank: I live in Communist Washington State and we have all mail in voting for every election. That said, no one can prove without a doubt that any ballot is actually received or any ballot is actually counted as the voter wished.
