Something for the weekend: Have You Ever Been Mellow (1975) by Olivia Newton-John. When news of her death was released this week I was surprised. Her music was popular when I was in college. I found most of it pleasant enough but I was never a real fan and I lost track of her comings and goings. In my mind she was frozen in amber in the seventies, part of my youth, and learning that she was 73 when she died briefly shocked me, although it was perfectly natural. May the Heavenly Kingdom appreciate her melodies.
The morning that I learned of her passing I made a comment on TAC regarding the news.
When I went outside to start my truck and drive into work, 5:25am, I decided to pray my first Rosary for her soul. As soon as I finished the Apostles creed a large meteor crossed overhead. A good one…long tail. I smiled in that serendipitous moment. Coincidence or not, it doesn’t matter. It brought me joy. I hope my offering brought her Joy as well.
God is good all the time…
My late wife was a big fan. The news brings back memories of the both of them.
Philip that’s a beautiful sign from Heaven. Olivia Newton-John passed away 8th August. The Feast of St Mary of the Cross McKillop (Australia’s first and only canonised Saint) is 8th August. There’s no co-incidences with God. Praying for her soul.
