Burn of the Day
- Donald R. McClarey
Donald R. McClarey
Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
I told my kids, “When a candidate makes a promise I like, I take it with a grain of salt. When they mature a promise I don’t like, I believe them. That’s why we voted for Trump over Hillary and couldn’t be happier with the result.”
I didn’t really believe he was pro-life until I saw actual actions his first days in office. I’ve never been so happy to be proven wrong. The bitter clinging to that mistake is sad to watch.
Cyrus of Persia was not a nice man, but he freed the Jews from Babylon.
Constantine was not (always) a nice man, but he ended the legal persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire.
God sometimes uses men who are not nice to accomplish nice things.
Constantine was not (always) a nice man,
He had a son and his, Constantine’s, wife executed when they were falsely accused of adultery. Trump is an angel compared to Constantine.
I do recall saying that Trump did what was needed to be done, back in 2020 December when things were being discussed about the robbery.
Supreme Court placements.
He will be remembered in the highlands as having kept his promise for Life….and God bless him for that.
