No identity crisis’ or proper pronoun police on this voyage. These men were tough as whale bone.
I admire the brutal honesty of the advertisement. I equally admire the men who sailed on.
Shackleton stated that after he ran the notice he was overwhelmed with inquiries, it seeming as if every man and boy in England wanted to sign up.
Marvelous news. The book about that voyage was one of the best I have ever read.

I haven’t read the work, however a documentary came out a few years ago that ran on PBS, i believe, and was it captivating. What a survival story for the ages. The advertisement lived up to it’s claims and then some. ENDURANCE. A timely verb in today’s battlefield, the world at large.
