Make Istanbul Constantinople Again!
Have you ever noticed that all of the great churches throughout the entire Western world we’re erected by Catholics? And then stolen by other “faiths?” My favorite is Westminster Abbey although there are a lot of other contenders including the Church of the Holy Wisdom.
I agree with CAG. Kick the Muslim Turks out and make Constantinople great again!
Stop seeking the churches.
Help save the souls.
I’d rather fight in Nigeria so that Catholics could have Mass than fight in Turkey for a beautiful church, that will remain empty after the victory.
We just lost the church in which my daughter received first communion a few years back. She cried. I comforted her.
She cried because she said she wanted her kids to receive their first communion there 💔
We are going to lose a shit ton of buildings during her lifetime. I could *try* to fight it, but I’m not a bishop. They get to decide what and how to sell out, may God forgive them. My job is to help the souls near me to be saved. I’d love to save the magnificent prayers in stone that previous generations sacrificed to erect, but I can’t. Most of you can’t either. They are in the custody of bishops and their delegates – people over whom we have little influence, who are often under the influence of bad men (or worse things).
Instead, help people to be saved. Sponsor a seminarian (it costs waaaay too much to get a man into a collar these days). Pray for priests, especially the ones that grind your gears. Catechize, correctly. Provide kids and grandkids good books, even if they threaten to ignore them. Blog 😉
The hierarchy can (and will) squander the buildings, so invest in the human capital that they can’t sell off.
Under Henry VIII, all the surviving bishops sold out. All the buildings were lost. Nevertheless, the Church in England survived to make contributions like Maryland, Chesterton, Benson, Tolkien, Newman.
Sadly, the new motto of the Church Militant needs to be:
Buildings? We don’t need no stinkin’ buildings.
We need our Holy Wisdom again.

The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington D.C. is beautiful outside. The inside is filled with clumsy statuary, atrocious stained glass windows and I am not sure what to call the mosaics on the ceiling, icons they are not.
Our hearts are the only place Jesus wants.

In Nigeria the Muslims revere the Blessed Virgin. Mary’s Miraculous Medal will convert them and heal them.. Any information about how to send the Miraculous Medals to Nigeria would be appreciated.
