Something for the weekend. Whenever I need cheering up, or simply an energy boost, Franz Waxman’s Ride to Dubno always does the trick. It was written for the movie Taras Bulba (1962) and the video clip below is the amazing sequence where the song is played as the Cossack army gathers on its way to Dubno.

My son-in-law is a proud Ukrainian by descent. I think he has a copy of that same or a similar picture in his living room. That was one of the Cossacks prouder moments.

My sympathy Cathy. We still have snow on the ground but it has been melting all week. We will probably get rid of it in time for our annual March blizzard!
