Was watching news coverage of the Russian protests and opposition to Putin and many ordinary Russians claiming they don’t know a single Russian civilian who is supportive of Putin’s actions. He doesn’t seem to have support from the Russian people on this one. There are queues rushing to withdraw their savings from banks, protesters in the street and many being told to stay home from work as an act of defiance to Putin and show of solidarity with Ukraine. Russians are fearful of the impact of the looming global sanctions. It’s turning into a disaster for Putin. I think he assumed he could win this one easily. Ukrainians are a tough bunch.
“I’m Russian. And I don’t have words.
I didn’t choose this president. No one from my friends and family and everyone I know voted for him.
People in 52 cities in Russia went out yesterday, protesting against this war. No one told them to. They knew they would be beaten up, thrown in jail, just for raising their voices. They still went.
My heart is with Ukrainians, with their families and friends. This has to stop.”

Rather familiar to my German American grandparents during WW I. They had left Southern Germany before the war to be free of the Prussian war machine that united the German states. Fortunately they settled in a largely German area when they came to the US though some of their countrymen were not so lucky during the anti-German riots in many areas. I would imagine many Russians in this country left the homeland for much the same reasons.
Dumb F’s.
Some folks just like excuses for their existing bad behavior.
Pictures of Ukrainian-American cemetery in Maryland vandalized by turning over gravestones and in some cases breaking them with hammers.
May the vandalizing scum be found and enjoy the sensation of the book striking them full-on. Utterly, absolutely inexcusable.
Open season on russian wolfhounds?
