PopeWatch: Cupich

Go here to read all about it at Father Z’s blog.  Cupich aspires to be more heretic than the Pope.  He is the Yezhov in the Great Purge of the Pope of faithful Catholics.  To be singled out by Cupich for punishment is a signal honor for any priest.

Update:

Too often in contemporary Catholicism there often seems to be two unforgivable sins for priests:

  1.  Being too orthodox.
  2. Criticizing their boss.

It was a fairly mild cri de coeur, albeit wandering a bit into kooky country near the end. That it came close to violating canon law is a contemptible lie. And bleakly funny, given the loathing the current regime has for law, tradition, custom and precedent.

Nothing could possibly incite animosity or excite contempt for the hierarchy more than their awful words actions already do.

Would it help if a new requirement was installed pertaining to accommodations and liquidity of Cardinals and Bishops. A restriction on income allocations and residences owned or used by clerics.

A poverty mandate.

Seriously.

I’m not saying it would cure the homosexual tendencies some clerics have, however it might align themselves with the true office of their calling.

Chasity is a must. Poverty too.

Who will keep them in check if they are to police themselves and since it’s very obvious that self governing isn’t working than maybe the laity must find a clever way to demand that the clerics be held accountable in their vows.

Am I naive in this line of questioning?

Probably.
But what will bring about change?
I read Fr. It’s blog.

The priest is heroic.
With Jesus indeed.

The false prophets and money changers of today holding high positions of authority are son’s of perdition. Calling them out is an act of mercy.

The long-time pastor at one of the large parishes in suburban Indianapolis tells that as he gave his very first Mass as a newly ordained priest, when he lifted The Lord up for Consecration, he heard a very distinct voice ask “Why am I backwards?”
