Hm, it’s got a slight point, but it’s still wrong– yeah, it’s not the point to teach kids what the parents want them to know, it’s to equip the kids to be able to function and be successful.
I can see how they would not want to think about the kids that their system is maiming, though.
I saw that and took great interest as a Michigander. They can’t control their control freak id. Expect more of this as they get trimmed back to their indigo-blue strongholds and don’t have to pretend to care about other viewpoints.
Can’t help but notice that the dems were content for decades to employ the frog in the pot tactics and try for the evolution of eventual control of the populace. Now they are applying the :great leap forward” method of giant steps to see if they can get away with it. In this effort they bow to the education establishment to mold minds and a politicized justice department to suppress dissent. Interesting times (Chinese definition) are upon us.
Regarding the suggestion to send our kids to a private school “at our own expense,” IT ALREADY IS AT OUR OWN EXPENSE AT PUBLIC SCHOOLS! We pay taxes. Government bureaucrats seem to forget that the public pays them. It’s clear they resent any attempt at influencing what is done with our taxes.

Each year, the local school budget gets voted down. Then, the PTA, et al jump in and it passes on second round. There ought to be a law . . .
