News that I missed, courtesy of The Babylon Bee:
Richmond, VA—After spending the week leading up to election day wielding tiki torches, chanting support of white supremacists, and condemning the election of a black, female Lieutenant Governor, Democrats began wondering if they might be on the wrong side of history.
“Come to think of it, standing here with confederate flags on our jackets and yelling about how electing a black state official is the worst thing for our state does sound, I dunno, racist I guess,” said one of Virginia’s Democrat leaders while staring ponderously into the flames of his tiki torch. “We may have to rethink our strategy.”
Another operative for the Democrat party seethed upon hearing news a Cuban-American had been elected Attorney General of Virginia, only to pause afterward and ask herself why she held such disdain for a minority candidate.
Go here to read the rest. Could this cause a great rethinking on the Left? Could they finally realize that their charge of white racism against their opponents is simply a lie and that they are only using false allegations of racism as a vicious political tool? Could this be the dawn of a new era in which all Americans are judged solely on the content of their character? In the immortal word of Theodoric of York: Naw!

She’s so right, but it is well not to confuse the winning horse with the jockey’s saddle in all this. This business of the unity/division concept–unity being an automatic good and division being an automatic evil is insufficiently thought out. Why? Think about it. Christ Himself knowingly caused division, while despots like Hitler brought unity to a fallen post WWI Germany with the sin of pride in the Father land. Unity around a good becomes then, a good in itself, but unity around an evil is the opposite. I may seem like I’m over reacting, but I am keenly aware of the Satanical left’s great skills at selecting a word of “goodness” and using it for their evil ends, just exactly as Satan dared to quote God’s own scripture to His Son to attain evil ends.
For me, the amusing thing about Wajahat’s tweet is that, for a lot of people in this country, a picture like this is actually normal, or at the very least (and perhaps more importantly) signals some semblance of normality. Sure, politicians don’t often pose like that, but I think it’s a pretty brilliant read of the room on her part, as the opposition’s continual lurching towards insanity has made this an instant picture of sanity and normality, if for no other reason than it’s diametrically opposed to their vision. Even more amusing is that we’re supposed to find this to be abnormal, but then supposed to find pictures of confused and contrived 4-star admirals to be normal. Those competing visions of reality are exactly why this image of her actually is normal and also why it’s effective.
To be fair, I know next to nothing about her and have no idea how she will govern, but I can immediately tell what vision she is trying to project, so on the marketing end at least it’s spot on. Let’s pray the projected values and the actual governance line up.
Hold my beer.
That evil, hate-filled rats think I’m a bad guy confirms my status as a good guy.
