The usual criticism of Libertarianism is that it is great in theory but that it would never work in real life. I rather agree with that. Pity that more people don’t realize that the part about never working in real life also applies to Socialism.

Libertarianism: fiscal responsibility coupled with social irresponsibility…or is it personal private profligacy coupled with some expectation of a puritan frugal republicanism.
After my flirtation with Libertarianism, all I saw was a push to legalize marijuana. Flawed fight from the start, as “legalization” recognizes the right of government’s compulsion to criminalize inanimate objects.
‘Social liberal and fiscal conservative’ sounds smart, but is a not quite all the way mature ideology as it is represented. I stopped reading REASON a long time ago.

All other things being equal, the guy who can make fun of himself and his beliefs is probably closer to the truth.
