Thought For the Day

The Barbarian hopes — and that is the mark of him, that he can have his cake and eat it too.  He will consume what civilization has slowly produced after generations of selection and effort, but he will not be at pains to replace such goods, nor indeed has he a comprehension of the virtue that has brought them into being. Discipline seems to him irrational, on which account he is ever marveling that civilization, should have offended him with priests and soldiers…. In a word, the Barbarian is discoverable everywhere in this, that he cannot make: that he can befog and destroy but that he cannot sustain; and of every Barbarian in the decline or peril of every civilization exactly that has been true.

We sit by and watch the barbarian. We tolerate him in the long stretches of peace, we are not afraid. We are tickled by his irreverence; his comic inversion of our old certitudes and our fixed creed refreshes us; we laugh. But as we laugh we are watched by large and awful faces from beyond, and on these faces there are no smiles.

This will not last as the storm of parent protests over the disappearance these classes (like AP Calculus) blows this idiocy right back in their stupid faces. As we have found out in the San Francisco Bay Area: even in woke districts parents (especially if they have means) put their kids ahead of their politics. Look for private school enrollments to jump yet again if this continues.

From “Should Christians Embrace Critical Race Theory?” by Lauren Rice:

Now, equity is not the same as equality. While equality means treating everyone the same regardless of any immutable characteristics (like race or gender), equity means treating everyone differently based upon immutable characteristics in order to ensure that everyone has the same exact outcomes. While equity sounds desirable, it is impossible to achieve without totalitarian government. Because different people groups have different inclinations, and because different individuals within those groups hold different priorities and make different choices, all people will not naturally end up in the same places. As the black economist Thomas Sowell put it in his book Discrimination and Disparities, “neither in nature nor among human beings are either equal or randomly distributed outcomes automatic. On the contrary, grossly unequal distributions of outcomes are common, both in nature and among people, including in circumstances where neither genes nor discrimination are involved.”[6]
While equality of opportunity (freedom from discriminatory laws) is certainly desirable and attainable, equity (forced equality of outcomes) is not desirable because it will inevitably come at the cost of freedom to everyone. In his book, The Quest for Cosmic Justice, Thomas Sowell also quotes the economist Milton Friedman, saying, “A society that puts equality—in the sense of equality of outcome—ahead of freedom will end up with neither equality nor freedom. The use of force to achieve equality will destroy freedom, and the force, introduced for good purposes, will end up in the hands of people who use it to promote their own interests.”[7]
The only way to ensure that everyone ends up in the same place is for the government to forcefully hold back some and push forward others. This social order—a socialistic, totalitarian government system—is the goal of Critical Race Theory.

There is a reason why the white man is being demonised and everything that he has built is being targeted with such ferocity. The white man is the last obstacle to a new world order. White women have been fed the feminist lie for long enough now that it’s seeped into the psyche of a few generations- so white women aren’t much of a hindrance. But the white man, if he buckles, will give way to a world which will ruin the dignity and free will of ALL individuals, regardless of colour, race or gender. It’s pretty obvious that this is not some whacky conspiracy theory, but rather something being playing out right before our eyes.
