Perhaps the Bergoglio retirement is at hand. But his replacement will probably be worse. Nonetheless we should pray for “Pope” Francis and the salvation of his soul.
He’s in pain and cannot move around much or be on display for extended periods. Or it’s something else and they’re lying.
The college appointed by John Paul and Benedict gave us this worthless man. You can never quite tell what will come out of a conclave, but the fact that he and his minions have been stacking it with the likes of Blaise Cupich is distressing.
He’s probably getting tired of burning his hands as he touches blessed objects and needs a bit of time out….
I don’t know about retirement. First of all, I’m not crazy about the idea of popes retiring in general. It reminds me of the double-name thing, where JP1’s successor probably felt obligated to take the name of JP2, but it’ll end there. So Francis may feel obligated to retire, but then the new tradition will die out. I hope so. I mean, in serious health cases I can understand it, but it’s destabilizing to have Popes Emeritus running around.
Beyond that, though, Benedict was a humble man who never really wanted the job. I don’t see that in Francis. Maybe he wasn’t angling for it all his life, and he probably tells himself he doesn’t need it, but I think he likes the limelight and thinks he’s doing some real good. I’m not 100% sure I’d want to be his successor, with him out there as Pope Emeritus. Again, Benedict is humble, and doesn’t step on the Pope’s toes. Would Francis be like that?

Game, set, match.
Hmmm, maybe yes…maybe no.
Sciatica is a miserable affliction, and I truly pity anyone having to carry on whilst suffering it.
