Cradle Catholic. Active in the pro-life movement since 1973. Father of three, one in Heaven, and happily married for 43 years. Small town lawyer and amateur historian. Former president of the board of directors of the local crisis pregnancy center for a decade.
Speaking of Sea Shanties, over the weekend Lt. Timothy Conway was awarded the Navy Cross for his heroic actions 75 years in the three days following the sinking of the USS Indianapolis. FATHER Conway’s award was delivered in his Parish Church in Waterbury Connecticut by the Secretary of the Navy who apologized for the delay of 75 years and recounted Fathers Conway’s heroic actions for three in shark infested waters tending to the needs of other shipwrecked sailors prior to his death. NOT a word on this site or any other supposedly Catholic website. A priest who sacrifices his life for others doesn’t mean a thing in contemporary CATHOLIC Journalism, no role model here. Leave it the the secular sites to report this story. I thought this site if any would mention the story, lost faith to say the least
I didn’t report on it Larry for the good reason I hadn’t heard about it. Thanks for bringing this to my attention! I have written about the heroic Father Conway, the last American Chaplain killed in World War II, and I will do so again. I wish he had received a posthumous Medal of Honor, which his deeds deserved:
