Trump the Deal Maker

Amazing how Trump, whom his critics paint as the greatest boob in history, gets results where other presidents either didn’t try or failed:

President Donald Trump on Wednesday said he struck a preliminary deal with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker to ease trade tensions and avoid a full-blown trade war with the European Union.

“This was a very big day for free and fair trade,” Trump said during a hastily scheduled joint appearance in the White House Rose Garden with Juncker, hailing a “new phase” of trade relations with the EU.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average spiked by almost 140 points after the news broke, ending the day nearly 0.7% higher.

The EU agreed to import more American soybeans and liquefied natural gas, Trump said. Both sides will work to decrease industrial tariffs and adjust regulations to allow US medical devices to be traded more easily in European markets. He said the two leaders were working towards a goal of “zero tariffs, zero barriers, and zero subsidies on non-auto industrial goods.”

Go here to read the rest.  Theodore Roosevelt used to say, “Speak Softly and carry a big stick.”.   Trump seems to be saying, “Speak Loud and get them to the negotiating table.”.

Well played Mr. President, well played.

TR knew and President Trump knows that power is useless unless your adversaries are convinced you will use it if you have to. In the age of social media, it’s not surprising that President Trump has to be a little more vociferous than TR had to be in his day. What’s funny is the role our enemedia play in the President’s successes. They have convinced friend and foe alike that President Trump is crazy and won’t hesitate to pull a trigger. Bravo!

The sweetest revenge imhp is that the left couldn’t establish a credible candidate in the 2016 elections. They truly believed that backing a filthy liar would suffice. They counted upon the masses voting for the first female President and by doing so they became a part of history. Substance wasn’t going to matter…and they failed! Thank God for the women of America who voted against HRC.

Trump on!

That whole “making history by electing a _______ for President” thing is highly over-rated.

c matt.

A cult of personality arises when a country’s regime – or, more rarely, an individual politician – uses the techniques of mass media, propaganda, the big lie, spectacle, the arts, patriotism, and government-organized demonstrations and rallies to create an idealized, heroic, and worshipful image of a leader, often through unquestioning flattery and praise. A cult of personality is similar to apotheosis, except that it is established by modern social engineering techniques, usually by the state or the party in one-party states. It is often seen in totalitarian or authoritarian countries.

Yup. The cult of personality didn’t cut it for Hellary. Obama rode the wave.

Agreed. It turns the office of the President into a novelty act. The equivalent of one more entry in Guinness, with all the seriousness of how many people can be stuffed into a VW Beetle (I would have used a phone booth as an example, but pay phones are pretty much history at this point).

What an astounding man. It is really hard to compare him to anyone else. Speaking for myself I’ve never seen anyone like him. He’s like Superman, but of course he’s flawed like all of us. But though he’s a man, he’s a man and a half. He sets off alarms because we are all so accustomed to pajama boys. For some reason God has blessed America with him, but I think his example is going to change the West for the good, and already has. He’s showing men how to be men, not perfect men, just men, and how to defend what you believe in no matter how loud the opposition yells or what names they call you. God bless him, his family, and his presidency.
