Mark Robinson was elected Lieutenant Governor of the state of North Carolina on election day this year. A Republican, he is the first black Lieutenant Governor in the history of North Carolina. A new Republican Party is rising before our eyes. In the world beyond Abraham Lincoln is cheering.

That’s awesome news!!
Hopefully they’ll do a recount for governor.
I had a VERY hard time believing, before Election Day, that Biden could possibly win, yet I couldn’t shake a nagging sense that God might allow President Trump to lose because, maybe, we (serious Christians in general) were putting too much trust in him, perhaps even idolizing him a bit? That maybe we were expecting too much of him? If that’s the case (still a big, big if) then maybe it’s time to think of “Trumpism” (for lack of a better word, I don’t mean it as an insult) as an ongoing grass roots movement, that Trump supporters will have to keep alive and perpetuate themselves by running for state and local offices, promoting the causes he stood for, etc., and not just a one-shot effort to reelect a particular president. Even in the worst case scenario, I am sure Trump will continue to be a force whether he’s in the White House or not. And even in the best case scenario (Trump wins), someone has to pick up the torch in 4 years anyway.
Trump is the only Republican candidate to make SIGNIFICANT inroads with minority voters. Before the election TV talking heads were claiming that Republican Party would die because of minority voters. And yet here we are, Trump who may have lost, was able to gain a lot of votes from blacks, Latino and Asian. More than Romney, McCain and Bush. Trump held the senate and gained seats in the house. Trump also, hilariously enough, strikes fear and terror into the hearts of democrats who ranted about Trumps “dark presidency” or whatever that means. Much love to Trump for showing at least some republicans how to fight back! I’m looking forward to the new party, I’m glad we got rid of the Romney’s, McCains and Bushes
Don’t do that to yourself, Elaine.
I recognize that– it’s the “everything that goes bad is my fault” impulse.
I recognize it because it’s a major flaw of mine, and I never heard anybody talk about it until someone on EWTN pointed out that it’s a form of pride– disordered belief in your own power. Looking at yourself for flaws first is fine, that’s where you can do something, right?– but you’re dehumanizing others if you claim responsibility for their chosen actions, over all of their actions. I know the seductive spiral of “if I had only-” and it’s taken my husband a long time to get me to stop granting myself magical powers of personal disposition or behavior that are capable of overcoming people, nature, and God Himself. It’s not there, it’d be wrong if it was, stop punishing yourself for not using it correctly.
God’s not going to screw with the election to punish us for not being spiritually perfect.
Our sins may cause us to do things that will screw us up– because that’s part of them being sins. They never stay little, and you end up getting desperate. Things like dumping over a hundred thousand votes only for one guy into your system, then trying to cover it by saying there’d been an accidental zero added and the reports were reversed– when removing a fat-fingered zero wouldn’t cause it to go down like that, it would cause it to go down by (N00,000-N0,000).
We expect Trump to…well, have his yes be yes, and his no be no. To do the job he was elected for. And most of us look for things we can do to help, and it’s when we CAN’T that the Trump flags come out. then at least we’re giving comfort to those who also want the abuse of our system, the death of children, to stop.
I agree with Foxfier.

Trump “lost” because Democrats cheated. Full stop. God gives us free will. If Democrats decide that trundling in boxes of questionable votes at 4 am in order to defeat Trump at any cost is moral because they deserve to win, God will not stop them, just as God does not stop the abortionists at clinics from performing their filthy deeds.
I don’t “idolize” Trump. I recognize he is a flawed man. His faults are minor compared to the downright evil displayed by the other side.
