Please, Dear Heavenly Father, may it be Your holy will that Donald Trump wins the election next Tuesday. He’s not the best man around. He’s got a lot of faults. But so did King David. Yet you called David a man after your own heart, and you blessed him. Trump too has amended his ways, except for his mouth and his Twitter feed. He just can’t help himself. So please excuse that and recognize that he defends the life of the preborn and the freedom of Your Church to worship in peace. Have mercy on us all, especially the pre-born, by NOT permitting the diabolical Democrats to win. We ask this through Jesus Christ Your Son, Who live and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, ever one God world without end, Amen.
Lucius, Hey, thanks for that prayer. EWTN says a great one for the election after the morning rosary, by Fr. John Hardon, one of the solid priests we’ve had.
Looks good to me.
“except for his mouth and his Twitter feed.”
LOL!!
In defense of the President’s mouth and twitter feed, if his opponents and critics treated him more Presidentially, I think his behavior would be more Presidential.
He may not conduct himself like the President we need, but he’s the President the United States of Gotham deserves.
Yup, agreed, Ernst et alias.
The thing about Trump being “presidential” or not is that no one has acted “presidential” in Washington for years. Is Biden “presidential”? Is Kamala? Is Pelosi? Were Obama’s cheap shots against his opponents “presidential”? Are Schiff’s lies “presidential”? Were Tricky Bill’s affairs “presidential”? On the Republican side, were Bush’s mannerisms now suddenly “presidential”? Were Romney and McCain’s backstab’s and contempt for the voters “presidential”?
It’s a false issue that amounts to “the president feels too ‘low class’.”
Years ago, Rush Limbaugh mentioned to a caller a conversation he had had with Trump. It was at least 2 years into his Presidency. Trump had said that he was really surprised by his treatment. He REALLY thought that after 6 or so months the Dems, the Never Trumpers and the media would settle down and begin to work with him for the good of the country. He didn’t realize at the time that that “common goal” was not what they wanted and would do EVERYTHING they could to stop him and our country from being successful.
It’s mostly a false issue, but I believe it does tell us something about the state of our culture. It’s not just the news cycle that’s 24- seven, it’s the political cycle as well. The campaigning never ends. I think the last President who genuinely acted Presidential was probably Bush the Elder.
It really ought to be 353-186. At a minimum. And with as bad as their governors have been on Covid, California, Illinois and New York ought to be toss-ups.
I’m praying more for a Republican Senate–a democratic Congress will be a disaster, even if Trump is elected.
I’m going to add a bit to LCQ’s prayer.
Lord, I know that nations are but a mist before your eyes, of less importance to you than the souls within them.
But I really like the USA. I hate to see the labors of my grandparents and their parents before them all washed away in a fit of madness. With Biden, I’m nervous that will happen.
You seem to have gifted Trump with wisdom these last 4 years. Can we please be blessed with 4 more years of such and may I ask an outpouring of sanity upon the people?
Thank you, God for listening.
Amen
Lord thou knowest how busy this nation will be on November 3. If we should forget thee, please do not thou forget US. March on lads and lasses!
(With apologies to Baron Astley.)
A friend texted me that she just saw a Trump rally. In downtown Chicago.
She said she’s also seen a few in the Chicago suburbs.
No, IL won’t turn red. But I hope the rally at least gave Lori Lighthead a bit of indigestion.
Every little bit helps to bring the mythical “national popular vote” closer. The smaller the margin for China Joe, or if Trump even manages to win a majority, the less ammo the Left has to agitate against the Electoral College.
They’ve got all the ammo they need in their phony baloney polls, Frank. The bigger Trump’s margin of victory, the bigger his margin of fraud in their eyes.
“The bottom line is that the polling industry is broken right now, and possibly just as corrupt as our other institutions. You should not be putting faith in public polling, especially when the polling contradicts other historical indicators.”
