Reacting to negative reaction to the Mother Earth Coin, Sister Paganus of the Vatican Mint made the following announcement:
Misinformation and Fake News, condemned by the Holy Father, has accused the Mother Earth Coin of reflecting paganism. Nothing could be further from the truth! It is actually a depiction of the Holy Mother cosplaying Pachamama.
Sister Paganus, age 84, then did a rendition of an Amazonian fertility dance.
Reaction around the Catholic Blogosphere was swift:
Mark Shea proclaimed cosplaying a new sacrament. Steve Skojec said that eye bleach was the remedy for the fertility dance. Donald McClarey at The American Catholic produced a seven part series on the historical foundations of cosplay and paganism. Jimmy Akin wrote Seven Things Not to Say and not to Share About the Mother Earth Coin. Father Z proclaimed a crusade to march on the Vatican. Church Militant excommunicated the Pope. National Catholic Reporter celebrated Pachamama as the end of the Patriarchy of God the Father. Archbishop Vigano: I told you so you bloody fools!

Father Weeks is a priest of the growing Ordinariate of the Chair of St Peter. As I understand it’s a rite in the Roman Catholic Church for former Anglicans. Prof. Kurland mentions that rite in PA often.
