The first of the three presidential debates is scheduled for a week from yesterday. Will it occur? I was sure it would, but I am beginning to have my doubts. To my non-physician eyes, Biden physically reminds me of clients I have had suffering from heart failure, with his exhaustion and shortness of breath. I am now predicting that the Biden campaign will cancel the debates on some pretext due to the fact that physically he simply can’t do it. They may propose Zoom debates but I doubt if Trump would agree to it. What do you think?

I think the Trump campaign better bring a radio frequency jammer with them.
But I doubt they’ll need it. Because I’ve never thought there would be debates.
But then, I didn’t think Biden would pick Harris either.
My dream is to see Trump debating an empty chair with a teleprompter talking.
I think he’ll show up. He HAS to.
He’ll be MIA for one to two days prior and no appearances earlier that day.
He’ll be mediated.
Look for a “hearing aid”.
In the 90 minutes, I wonder if any bathroom breaks will be needed?
The later half should be “more interesting” than the first half. I suspect Biden will tire visibly and his performance will suffer.
Worst case for Biden, he’ll begin to wander in his answers and become visually confused. Live. No ability to edit.

My wager is that the’ll insist on a Zoom debate in order to install a TelePrompTer or other technologies. Juanita Broaddrick of all people pointed out on Twitter that in some recent appearance he appeared to have a flesh-colored device in his ear. The medical report his doctor issued last December did not mention hearing loss requiring an aid, so what was that thing. (I don’t recall that Ronald Reagan used an aid in public appearances, though he had known and longstanding hearing loss which began with a mishap during filming).

That I think his handlers are terrified of. Biden has deteriorated quite a bit just since the Spring.
Other possibilities mentioned by Robert Stacy McCain: he’s been taking Adderall.
What we’ve been seeing is something I never thought we’d see again, the revival of a McKinley-style front porch campaign. Has this been done in the last century? (Warren Harding’s perhaps?). The thing is, back then you had real reporters and you had Republican and Democratic papers.
After Trump’s Supreme Court nominee announcement Saturday, Biden will cancel debates in protest of Trump’s disrespect of Justice Ginsburg and his assault on the independence of the judiciary. (A lie that some of the brain dead like him may applaud.)
This scenario only makes the Vice-President debate all the more critical since Democrats will really be voting for Harris.
If he can’t do the debate because he is physically weak, he certainly can’t be the President, a much harsher job.
Soros’ antifas and BLM and his China handlers aren’t very bright. Possibly they think Donald John Trump will jump all over the blithering idiot and Americans will vote for dementia out of sympathy for this disabled nitwit.
Also, I’m interested in watching the whore self-destruct in the coming SCOTUS nominee hearings.
China Joe will really never be president. There will be someone behind a green curtain somewhere pulling levers and pushing buttons.
I am assuming that most of America think Biden’s health, mental and physical, is OK and will be shocked if he pulls out. They consider all the talk about Biden’s health a lie and politically motivated.
Accordingly, when the Dems withdrawn him it will be because of the Covid virus which has been very helpful to them. This act will generate sympathy for poor old Joe and make it difficult for Trump to attack. In Biden’s place they will offer Kamala Harris. . Trump will refuse. The Dems will use this refusal to make him look hateful or fearful.
Michael, you may be right, but I believe Trump would wax the floor with KamalaSutra almost as much as he would with Biden. Remember her performances in the Dem primary debates? She was so marvelous she dropped out of the race before the first vote was cast. The only thing better for Trump would be the empty chair.
I’m not a conspiracy fan but there is something different about Biden’s face. At first I thought it was maybe more hair plugs, eyebrows trimmed and a little plastic surgery tweaking which would explain his subtle new look. In some of his old pictures (looking straight at him) the left eye did not open as wide as the right and he had a crooked smile with the lips pulled to the left. Easy to recover in the basement for two weeks. Voice – his voice is hoarse quite often. Surgery or double?
Suddenly my bet that Joe doesn’t make it to the election doesn’t seem that far fetched does it?
With the way that this year has progressed it wouldn’t surprise me if the DNC had Jeb Bush sub in for Biden at the debates. I mean, even President Trump would admit that Jeb is higher energy than Biden.
My expectation is that Biden does horribly at the debates, the next day or two gets diagnosed with COVID, and then hands off the reigns to Harris. BOOM! Harris campaign; they couldn’t get her in with a Hillary-style cheat, so they went with Biden knowing he’d eventually decline and COVID is just a handy excuse. What happens to Joe after that is anyone’s guess.
I’m starting to think there will be a debate. I’m thinking the skipped days and the days done well before noon are about retraining his circadian rhythm so he can be alert for the debates.
Ernst, the idea of Trump’s team bringing a radio jammer—thus depriving addled Biden of his prompter— is delicious. Can you imagine the spectacular implosion of that campaign? Oh, and the absurd scramble of most of the media to explain it away? It would make my heart soar!
Are smart glasses a thing? Will Biden be wearing a new pair?
Maybe Biden will need wear a full face cloth mask and a hat for protection, he might even look heavier or a bit taller… you know how the camera plays tricks on the eyes… like he’s not even the same person…
After the debate, backstage he pulls off a Mission Impossible style rubber mask to reveal Hillary….
