News that I missed, courtesy of The Babylon Bee:
LOS ANGELES, CA—A huge crowd turned out Sunday for the Hans Gruber memorial service. Gruber was the victim of police violence, having been thrown from Nakatomi Plaza by police officer John McClane, which many consider one of the most excessive uses of force ever witnessed. After the incident, there were protests all week, and now thousands from all over the country came to pay respects to Gruber, widely described as an “intelligent and witty soul.”
“That man was a hero,” said Doyle Graham, who traveled from Nevada to pay respects. “I mean, I don’t really know much about him other than that some police officer killed him, but he seems like someone we should all honor and emulate.”
Gruber was part of a mainly peaceful protest against the Nakatomi Corporation, which was goaded into violence by the actions of McClane. Ultimately, McClane threw Gruber from the 30th floor, even though Gruber was completely unarmed (or at least he was when he hit the ground). Even LAPD Deputy Chief Dwayne T. Robinson denounced the actions, calling McClane a “nutcase” who should have “just stayed put.”
Go here to read the rest. Well, Democrat internal polls must be pretty bad for them to hoist Biden from his Bunker, fly him to Pittsburgh, have him give a brief speech and then decline to take any questions. The theme of Biden’s speech was that Trump is to blame for the riots. Yep, its Trump’s fault that the BLM movement has been let free in Blue cities to rampage at will along with Antifa. It is Trump’s fault that members of these groups, when they are arrested, have been treated with kid gloves by Democrat prosecutors. Finally, it is Trump’s fault that when he has attempted to send Federal law enforcement to assist, Democrat politicians have reacted like their Southern forebears when Lincoln attempted to resupply Union forts at the beginning of the Civil War. The Democrats are howling now, of course, when they are finding out in their polls that ordinary people aren’t thrilled with the riots like their nutcase base. When a party plays to its extremists, the going is always going to be rocky in the general election. The Democrats thought that law of politics had been repealed because of Orange Man Bad. Surprise! Nothing like reality to make political plans come a cropper.
How ironic that the Democrat election strategy of defeating Trump by creating fear via the scamdemic, moral outrage and white remorse by BLM will result in Trump re-election.
And one more thing. Read James Howard Kunstler who sums up why Biden must be defeated and Trump re-elected.

I have a coworker who insists that everyone knows that the reason these “mostly peaceful” protests turn into riots is because they’re infiltrated by this nation’s hordes of white supremacists blah blah.
Then I pointed out that Biden’s staffers tweeted that they’d donated to bail out those arrested and asked her to explain why the Democrats were helping racists. She fell silent.
The leftist riot response guide:
1.) These weren’t riots, they were completely peaceful!
2.) Okay maybe they weren’t completely peaceful since things got destroyed, but they were “mostly” peaceful and then “intensified.”
3.) Okay maybe the damage was immense, but what do you care? Everything is insured.
4.) Okay maybe insurance won’t cover all the damages, but isn’t that a price worth paying to fight against racism? These acts of destruction were righteous!
5.) Wait, you’re actually going to punish people for committing crimes? Well in that case it was white supremacist infiltrators who did everything!
What they’re really mad about is Trump refuses to act like the dictator they all know him to be.
That’s the dirtiest trick of all.
“What they’re really mad about is Trump refuses to act like the dictator they all know him to be.”
Exactly, Ernst. Rush Limbaugh spoke at length yesterday about how the Democrats have tried all summer long to goad Trump into responding to their “ladling on of hate” with some hate of his own–at which point they would use that against him for the rest of his political life. His refusal to be goaded has been amazing, not to mention highly effective.
Hard on the innocent bystanders who have to live with wreckage though.
BTW, Jim Geraghty’s against the extremists on both sides:

The institutional mission of National Review is just what?
Good to know. When somebody from the right shoots a Biden supporter for know reason, we’ll have Jim’s example to lead us.
Random thought I had earlier today: At what point, exactly, did the author of Liberal Fascism become a liberal fascist? Was it gradually, or all at once?
I really need to get better about prufreading. Pretty sure I can’t blame that one on autocorrect.
I haven’t noticed any indications of liberal fascism from Goldberg, just a disinclination to revise vehement opinions in light of new information. (And an obsessive interest in his dogs).
Well he’s going to vote for the place holder for the incipient liberal fascist administration, because of reasons and orange man bad, so, as Orwell might say, by not opposing the liberal fascists, he’s supporting them, objectively.
These thugs and criminals are not the forebears of southern
Democrats pre 1860. An unfortunate analogy. Let us be united for the future.
It’s the old Democrat “who are you going to believe, me or your own lying eyes?” trick.
