The Ronald McDonald House in Chicago was vandalized during looting early Monday morning while families and their sick children huddled inside, the charity said Tuesday.
The Ronald McDonald House in the Streeterville neighborhood of the city’s Near North Side provides support for sick children and their families while the child receives medical treatment at nearby Lurie Children’s Hospital.
The charity said more than 30 families and their sick children were sleeping inside when the looters, who had taken over downtown, ransacking stores and vandalizing properties, started attacking the building.

Update: It is a small world. While working in the law mines today I encountered a couple whose daughter is undergoing treatment in Chicago. The wife and the daughter were in the Ronald McDonald House when it was under attack. Having a sick child is a world of worry for parents. Add rubbish like this madness into the scale and we see how mad this year of punishment is.
I don’t like guns. Never have. Never will. They are noisy, smelly, and ugly. I never want to own one.

I also never, ever want to live in a society that bans my lady friend from owning her own Glock and taking a CWP class, which she just did the other day.

Mayor Lightfoot could stop these “mostly peaceful protestors” within a week by issuing an order allowing the purchase, ownership, and legal use by anyone who wants one in Chicago. The protestors will most likely remain peaceful if they know that businesses and homeowners are free to counter-protest.

Detroit is not perfect, but I haven’t heard that it has erupted in flames. The media credits good, respectful policing and partnerships. It occurs to me Michigan’s CWP laws may have a lot more to do with it.

An armed society is a polite society
The main difficulty is to determine whether the greater trait of these arsonists and looters is evil or stupidity.
The last thing I want to do is shoot. It’s way too noisy and far too difficult not to leave evidence and witnesses.
Best strategy: stay out of any situation that may result in your need to shoot.

1) This is why silencers should be unregulated. In the meantime, invest in good hearing protection.

3) I can’t argue that, there’s a lot of ugly guns on the market. At least John Browning was an artist. The 1911 is a thing of beauty.
