Covid-20?
What was she doing?
Not as big of a deal as it was 30-40 years ago– she can get a couple of shots and be fine. (When my sister was bitten by a dog, the shots were horror movie stuff. Now it’s normal vaccination type shots.)
Hope they have the bat remains. My brother, ER doc in FL, stabilized a young AF cadet, then he was admitted. Cadet got worse so navy hospital transferred patient to big civilian hospital. Cadet died and was organ donor so parted out. 18 months later young man in NC hospitalized very sick. Diagnosed conditionally with rabies. Staff though couldn’t find a bite or any exposure to rabid animal. Then they found out in med history 18 months earlier that he had received body tissue transplant. Traced to cadet in FL. My brother and everyone else in the care chain of the cadet had to have rabies shots. Not 21 in the navel these days. Still dormancy of disease scary. Apparently rabies can be hard to ID in different stages.
They accepted organ donations from someone with rabies? Oh my.
.
I get nearly daily emails begging me to give blood, and I was finally able to make an appointment. I even did a pre check of questions so all they had to do was check my iron, pulse, and pressure when I got there.
.
They would not even let me in the door until I answered “Have you been around someone or tended to someone who has, or was suspected of having, Covid 19?”
That’s OK – lesser of 2 evils.
But Wow – if he had got Covid 19 Wuhan Flu – say no more.
