President Trump commuted Roger Stone’s sentence yesteday which means he will not be starting a prison sentence that, at his stage of life, would have amounted to a life sentence. This was purely a political prosecution undertaken in the sacred cause of getting Orange Man Bad. The opponents of Trump are quite happy to see the country destroyed rather than to see Trump as President. Stone’s ostensible crime was lying to Congress, an almost never prosecuted crime, although for the sake of consistency, I can think of 541 people, the members of Congress, who doubtless should be investigated for the same offense. Stone’s real offense was that he was a loud mouth supporter of Trump and he mocked Trump’s adversaries in Congress and the Deep State and that could not be tolerated.

Trump and Tucker got it right on Stone. Many are the Robespierre(s) in the Democrat Communist Party as they stage the 2020 version of the French Revolution.
The political class has managed to wreck the legitimacy of the federal court system. It will have to be blown up and reconstituted.
The President was absolutely correct. I just hope Roger shuts up, at least until after the election, and goes on with his life. The media will be after his comments, and no good can come the media baiting him so as to make it more difficult for the President to win this election. Move on and shut up Roger, at least until after November.
The liberals’ only hope against the neo-Marxists that control the Dem party is to make a tactical alliance with the right.

In other news, Texas Governor Abbott, who seems to be competing for the title of Most Jeb-Like Republican Ever, has once again exhorted all Texans to “wear your masks at all times.” Panic-stricken over the “spike in cases”, he sounds more like Fauci every day. Yesterday he also said “the worst is yet to come.” This while, according to Dr. Scott Atlas of the Hoover Institute, 85% of the ICU patients in Texas currently are non-COVID patients, which hardly suggests the COVID apocalypse the left so clearly wishes would happen.

If Stone had attempted to blow up Congress instead of mouthing off to it, the Left, provably, would be fine with the commutation.
