Shortly after he told the Republican Party that it would have to “scale down” its scheduled national convention in the state due to coronavirus transmission concerns, North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper marched in a densely packed protest outside of the governor’s mansion, at times removing his face mask while walking through the crowd.
Cooper said Tuesday that the Republican National Convention, scheduled to be held in Charlotte this summer, would have to be reduced in size due to fears that the coronavirus pandemic would still pose a significant threat in August.
“The people of North Caroline do not know what the status of COVID-19 will be in August, so planning for a scaled down convention, with fewer people, social distancing and face coverings is a necessity,” Cooper said.
Several hours after making that announcement public, Cooper joined the march outside of the Executive Mansion in Raleigh.
The governor “came out of the Executive Mansion early Monday evening and marched with a group protesting on Blount Street,” WAVY TV 10 reported.
Video of the event showed Cooper marching at the head of a large group of activists with his mask off.
Go here to read the rest. For Leftists it is an article of Faith that for the ruled, us, there are one set of laws, and for the rulers, them, there are no laws, they can do as they please. The GOP is now seeking another venue for their convention. Nuts to that. They should hold their convention in North Carolina and dare Cooper to do something about it. I would suggest that Trump federalize the North Carolina National Guard during that time, bring plenty of Federal marshals, and invite every GOP sheriff in the State, along with as many deputies as they wish to bring, to act as additional security at the Convention and to be honored guests. The funny thing about Calvinball, is that once one group in society begins to play, all groups in society will eventually also play. Time for conservatives to join in the game.
Right. Stay in Charlotte. Wherever they hold the convention the protesters will be there. Violent protests are an action insurrection and anyone doing this should be shot on the spot. This is really the only answer.

Peak irony in Floral Park, NY. This afternoon at 4:30PM there will be an experiment in human sacrifice for Saint George Floyd. The so-called protest will be immediately in front of the Catholic Church, which has been prohibited from celebrating Sunday Mass for months.
Mostly white Floral Park gives evidence blacks don’t hold a monopoly on idiots that are dumber than fleas.
Our town – which has openly supported the protests – has just announced it is banning 4th of July celebrations indefinitely due to the threat large outdoor gathering pose to public health. As my sons said, you may risk lives to decry America as the racist nation filled with racists that it is, you may not gather to celebrate America.
I don’t think a densely packed convention is a wise idea for either party at this time. Just do a pro-forma convention, file in and file out. Rent some pavilions and have it in open air.
The behavior of Democratic politicians in the last several days have demonstrated that the lockdown has degenerated into humbug. They did this even though someone minimally prudent would expect a free fall in compliance thereafter. Can’t operate a barbershop, can have rabble running around ‘protesting’ and rioting.
Btw, it’s a reasonable wager there will be a spike in coronavirus deaths in some weeks on account of this. These are a superspreader event and the idiots will infect vulnerable family members. It makes you sick.

The Guardsmen themselves will get through it, though some may require hospitalization. The problem is, they can spread it to elderly family members. My dear cousin, age 68, hasn’t hugged her grandchildren in two months, and they live four doors down.
You recall New Orleans was a disaster at the peak of the pandemic. Reasonable wager was Mardi Gras was the reason. You recall Albany, Ga. was another disaster. The reason was a pair of funerals held around 1 March. For politicians to allow potential superspreader events after all this has cost us collectively is just unforgiveable. (There was a mass demonstration over this humbug in the Netherlands. Just bomb their bloody dikes).
Most politicians never cared about whether they were slowing the spread of the Wuhan flu. It was a power grab and an attempt to bring down President Trump. The disease may be deadly or it may not, but it’s irrelevant to the concerns of the average politician. It serves them just as well either way.
Now they think that the riots will serve their purposes better, so the Wuhan flu is all but forgotten. That’s not to say that there is no risk from it, but it’s only relevant to the extent that it can be used as a political bludgeon.
That’s why you’ll see politicians say that we should do nothing to disperse mass riots but it’s still too risky to allow unrestricted church services. They haven’t found a way to spin the riots as a way to close down churches yet, so they’ll still use the Wuhan flu for that, but otherwise they don’t care.
