This MAY be amusing. Opinions change…, I guess. I wonder if “science” is involved.
From March 31st
“Surgeon General Jerome Adams Tuesday doubled down on his advice against healthy people wearing face masks to protect themselves from coronavirus, saying that wearing one improperly can “actually increase your risk” of getting the disease.
“What the World Health Organization and the CDC have reaffirmed in the last few days is that they do not recommend the general public wear masks,…”

(For those who don’t know, Trump tweeted out that one word yesterday – or was it the day before – and it became a trend on twitter multiple times in the millions of tweets, despite Twitter’s repeated efforts to suppress it.)
Francis, McCarrick, Biden, and China!
@John F Kennedy – Wasn’t it Twain who once said, “Never live your life based on medical journals. You might die of a misprint.”
Also, boy if anybody wanted the unfiltered experience, being kicked off facebook has really let Shea loose on twitter. I would be curious if there was a graph of his book sales to see if you could map drops to his attitude. I do wonder how he expects to get his new book done when he’s angry on twitter all the time.
Nate, I predicted this panic back in late January. I suggested that we stock up on supplies. My wife finally started to listen to me by mid Feburary. There is a virus. But we’ve all lived thru “pandemics” in the past and no lock downs. I knew this would be blown up and up and up because the Russian collusion didn’t work, the impeachment didn’t work, etc. Anything, including destroying everything, is ok if it takes Trump out. After all, they believe the ends justify the means.
I only link to those stories because they are examples direct contradictions to their own reasons and the moving “goal posts”.
Hawaiian Judge.
When the churches finally do reopen, there isn’t going to be any problem keeping them at 1/3 capacity or whatever other arbitrary threshold is set. The bishops have done an admirable job of convincing the faithful that watching a mass on the internet is as good as receiving the Eucharist at an actual mass, and that it would be sinful to even slightly raise someone’s chance of getting a disease just because you want to be in the presence of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.
RH, agreed, the vast majority of the U.S. bishops act as if they are much more concerned with pleasing their friends in the media than with being true shepherds of the souls for which they are responsible. One has to conclude that these poor examples of Apostolic succession simply do not themselves believe in the doctrines of the Church concerning sacramental grace and eternal salvation. Otherwise I cannot imagine how they could sleep at night for fear of the accounting they will be required to render to the Just Judge.
