This Friday will be twenty-five years since the September 11 attack. I will be having my usual 9-11 posts up, but I thought it would be useful to start a discussion thread now. Normally on 9-11 I am not too often in the comboxes, my emotions still raw on that anniversary, and I assume that is true for a fair number of people. Starting early, I hope that more of us who normally do not want to say much on the actual date can do so now. I will start off with this reflection: after a lifetime of studying History, I sometimes fear that all we learn from History is that we learn nothing from History.
