Let us pray that Putin is not planning to add to a losing war in Ukraine with a lashing out against NATO. I doubt if the CIA Director went to Moscow for a sight seeing trip.

Why would the director of the CIA need go there in such a massive airplane? I liked it better when our spy agencies were clandestine.

Putin could be trying to do what Stalin did in World War II. Pivot from normality too “we need to defend Mother Russia”. Canada’s leaders are talking War to unite the Liberati in Canada against the US to self-imalate so who knows? A mechanism used since two tribes argued over a stream.

He should not be traveling abroad. We have a diplomatic corps for that type of activity.

I suspect VP thought it would be a cakewalk to take out the Ukraine. Four years in, he controls no more territory than he did in March 2022. IIRC, the longest war in post-Napoleonic Europe was the Greek rebellion against the Ottomans, followed by one of the Carlist Wars, followed by the European portion of the 2d World War. This ranks next in duration. I cannot imagine he has anything to spare in attempting to run troops into the Baltic states or (via White Russia) into Poland, but perhaps he’s planning some sort of aerial bombardment.
The association of the United States with Ukraine has been a disaster for us (the United States). Most could not find it on a map. It’s certainly not a democracy, being ruled by the dictator Zelensky. What is in it for us?
A black eye for Mother Russia under Putin is a good result for the US.

Putin is a revanchist who wants Russia’s empire back, which at one time included Finland, the Baltic States and Poland. It’s wiser (and less costly in the long run) to prevent that reset than to endure another Cold War.

Yeah, I’m not seeing a downside to keeping Russia out of Europe for the U.S. … Especially if someone else is doing the fighting. Like Zelensky or not, he was fairly elected. Putin?

If you recall, at the time the invasion began, the Russian foreign minister made a public demand that all countries admitted to NATO after 1997 be expelled from it. Conquering the Ukraine was meant to be the first course. Also on the menu were the Baltic States, Moldova, the Transcaucasus, and White Russia.
