It is not only Confession that can be expected to help. Most trauma-induced mental disorders involve brain damage in the limbic system primarily – sensory, emotional, social, and physiological processing. The Tridentine Mass (and other traditional liturgies) stimulates all of those areas simultaneously, directed toward One, and therefore can be expected to mend those broken connections to a considerable extent.
