Like other critics of the hysteria abroad in the land, they were shouted down, threatened with job loss and completely ignored by the media. Our hapless bench of bishops, who went along with this rubbish hook, line and sinker, along with Pope Francis, also have much to answer for.
“Bishops weigh in?”
when’s the last time they’re weighed in on anything but “immigration”?
The bishops, for the most part, only weigh in on prudential matters that Catholics can licitly disagree on. They then make morally binding pronouncements on such matters as if they were moral writ.
On truly binding moral issues, they give a pass.
