I hadn’t laughed all day, till now.
Blows my mind that the cult of the liberal hivemind calls conservatives incurious. It’s literally the exact opposite. And when conservatives confront liberals with facts, they either get angry and violent or they run away. Every conservative I know became that way after meandering through the vast wastelands of liberal thought and coming to the conclusion that it was just wrong. The best proof is that most liberal thought relies on feels where most conservative thought relies upon facts.
I think what got me started on the path away from the liberalism of my youth (and family) was noticing the constant projection – and to this day, it’s almost always the first thing I notice.
I had seen the original tweet yesterday and called it out as such. Are there incurious conservatives? Of course, but I have never met one who had taken the time to think through his thoughts and concluded “damn it, I want to be an ostrich!”

-that reads like a line from Screwtape Letters… because it truly is.
Church = Bad!
Crusades = Evil!
Bible = Bigotry!
And if I am exposed to any facts that contradict these dogmas I shall retreat to my safe space and contemplate what must be burned in recompense!
… And we’re the incurious ones?

My liberal brother makes it a point of pride that he is not well-read. Almost as if he is afraid it might force him to confront his own childlike and childish political and cultural beliefs.
The Fox News Fallacy: I’m often accused of “only” watching Fox. But we don’t have cable, and my news feed includes a broad range of sources. When someone uses the Fox News Fallacy against me, all he or she has done is admitted to only following ONE news source.

This is the work of the most prominent liberal academic in the United States today. She has an appointment at a research institution and her substack has a seven digit population of followers. Another very prominent academic was…Paul Krugman. I think we’ve entered a decadent period in academe, at least outside the natural sciences &c.

Such matters of style for the blog are in the hands of Tito Jerry. I merely write and keep order at the blog, which is a group effort. And I see by the latest changes that Tito has been reading some of the critiques.

The format had to change a little bit because due to upgrades to the CMS, ie, the engine that operates this blog, those upgrades messed up the configuration so that I had to fix it to the best of my ability.
