As I told the minions of Twitter after they did this, they wouldn’t recognize irony if it bit them on the butt. Stop hiring morons Elon and stop using moronic algorithms.
Irony?

(More proof) AI is a marketing acronym.
I am sure, however, that there is a crew aboard an Ohio class fleet ballistic missile submarine somewhere in the Indian Ocean who can make Tehran one with Sodom and Gomorrah. That fact alone should put the fear of God into the minds and hearts of the mad mullahs and their minions.
On the other hand, slowly strangling the economy might put some steel in the spine of those who have so far elected to try and tough it out rather than take a more active roll in dealing with the internal problem (IRGC) that is the base cause of the conflict.
The problem is always scale. How do you handle the sheer volume of users – especially users that cover a wide variety of cultures and languages. If something was translated from a foreign language, would it be obvious to you that it was sarcastic or not? We forget often how much unspoken layers there are to communications – and how much of that is lost online. (Hence the joke, “we’re all autistic on the Internet.”)
And of course this applies across time too. If some historian 300 years from now found just the image you posted and had nothing else about our time (imagine it’s written on papyrus), would they know it was sarcastic? Or would your words become the foundation of a theory that there were serious public debate over dropping nukes in the Iran conflict?
(Such thoughts are why I often try to be more humble when it comes to looking at history. I just keep thinking, “what is all the other stuff I don’t know…” Would I recognize an ancient joke, no matter how obvious the delivery?)
I think it’s all AI – monitoring
